[EN] Now available: Our unofficial eRepublik API

Hello fellow citizens,

as you may know, the official eRepublik API doesn't get maintained right now: There are no improvements, no bugfixes and you won't receive a needed API key when you ask the support for it.

Even though many people say that eRepublik.com will die in the next years, I want to encourage players to get involved into the tool development of eRepublik in order to improve the overall gaming experience with new ideas for nearly everyone. Of course I'm aware that some single persons aren't able to "change the game" but overall we should try to make the best of the current situation.


About eRepublik-Deutschland.de

Some of you already know eRepublik-Deutschland.de as it became one of the biggest tool providers of eRepublik within the last months. It started as a small german project in order to bring back some activity in the german community. With the first tools, the worldmap and the basic playerstatistics, we became quite famous in a short amount of time - even in non-german speaking countries.

With the help of the community we developed 25 tools including several "sub tools" in order to end the situation of outdated, incorrect and split-up tools in eRepublik. With the help of modern crawler technologies we try to deliver useful statistics and tools for nearly every player and every situation in eRepublik.

While developing all these things we had to handle several problems: We didn't get access to the API, we had to implement a crawler network in order to get the needed information of eRepublik, we had to deal with connectivity issues and even small DDOS attacks - and the high risk of getting banned.

Thanks to the eRepublik administration and some warm words of the community, eRepublik-Deutschland.de is "tolerated" right now and the eRepublik developers are also supporting our service in order to make it easier for us to gather the needed data and reduce the serverload caused by our crawlers.


We want to encourage tool developers

You may see that there's a lot of work behind this project. Even though "we" get a lot of support of the community with new ideas, "we" are also a one man small business enterprise registered in germany. We want to make the whole stuff a lot easier for new tool developers, without the need to implement and maintain their own crawlers - and, of course, without the risk of getting banned permanently in eRepublik.

As we are already crawling mostly all information out of the game and cache it in our database, we want to make this data available for people interested in tool developing for eRepublik - with the help of our unofficial eRepublik API.


Unofficial eRepublik API

We created an unofficial eRepublik API in order to make it easier for people to get access to the data of eRepublik.com. Even though you don't have access to the up-to-date data of eRepublik, you've got access to exactly the same data eRepublik-Deutschland.de is using, in order to deliver our well known tools.

Right now we offer 10 useful interfaces in order to help you developing your own tools:

How to get access to this API

We try to make it as easy as possible, but due to security and possible abuse concerns the following steps are required in order to get access:
- Read and accept our Terms of Service (yep, this is needed)
- Create an account at eRepublik-Deutschland.de and verify your email address
- Link your eRepublik account with your eRepublik-Deutschland.de account (Click Here)
- Request your API Key

.. that's it. You are now able to access our API. As we're using a RESTful design and JSON as output format, you should be able to use our system in mostly all common programming or scripting languages.

Coming up the next weeks

As you may notice😛 You're now able to create an account at eRepublik-Deutschland.de and link your eRepublik account with it. We're going to improve this feature in order to give you easy access to the data you really need. You will also be able to create protected player- and organization groups in order to securely keep track of your high value data.
