[EDITORIAL] Diet/Congress Fundraising Idea

Day 1,833, 03:26 Published in Japan Japan by ahava3233

Hiya, ahava3233 currently reporting from occupied Kyushu. Anyway, I wanted to bring up an idea to public attention. I think it would be worthwhile to implement a certain program.

Anyway, as you all know, in a few hours we'll finally once again have an elected Diet. You know, one of the perks of having our own region(s). 😁

But anyway, as you all know and can see by taking a look at the contents of the treasury, our government is more than likely strapped for income (I'm sure no one would mind knowing how much is being held behind closed doors btw--could the MoF fill us in on that?). So, I propose the following initiative if the president (or the new Diet) would elect to uphold it (to be followed by this Diet and maybe all others after it as well); all elected Diet (congress) members should donate the 5 gold they earnt through the election medal to the government. This isn't an unheard of idea, I know this is done in Israel and is probably also done in a few other countries. It would make the government 50 gold richer just this month if every elected Diet member donated and furthermore, a program such as this would probably also weed out people who aren't serious about running for office (those who don't want to work for the public good)--a JEC (Japanese Election Commission) could even take part in enforcing this somehow.

Anyway, I hope my idea is seriously considered. ahava3233 signing off!
