[Economy][Opinion] Has the new hospital system relaunched the economy?

Day 854, 04:18 Published in Romania Romania by MuadDib_TheWhiteBaron

I am one of the many who believe that the old hospital system was for many reasons a lot better than the new one. Mainly because we could depend on Q1 food every day (just so we don't lose wellness due to starvation) and we didn't need a house (power to the homeless). We were able to survive by fighting only 4 times every 2-3 days instead of 5 times.

The new hospital system also means the kamikaze system is no longer applicable unless you have plenty of gold to spare on wellness boxes and gifts.

However, by analyzing the recent market changes, a keen eye can observe that the new hospital system has had a major effect in the economy.
First of all eCitizens have been divided into two main classes:

1. Those who can afford a house, high quality food and gifts. These type of citizens (mainly high skilled workers), will tend to work in high Q companies because they can afford to recover the wellness lost when working for a 3-5 Q company.

2. Those who can't afford a house, but can at least buy Q3 or Q4 food each day. They will work in low Q companies 1-2 Q. In this category you will find people with quite a high skill but also low skill workers.

Because of this division, High Q companies had to increase the salaries in order to attract high skilled players (>4) which would be reluctant to work there because of lack of Houses and risk of spiraling down a wellness fall. Some lucky players have managed to find a low Q company paying a salary close to what high Q companies offer, however the differences are noticeable (eg. In spain a q3-q4 company will pay for a skill 4 iron/wood worker around 6.7ESP while for a Q1-Q2 the salary is around 4ESP).

The effect the new hospital system has had over the economy can be seen in the food sales and houses. Whereas before, there was huge stock of house, now the house buying options are all displayed on a single page (that includes all Q houses). The prices have also increased drastically (this is a negative, but it is the way markets work) (eg. with 25 gold, you could buy a Q5 house, now you buy only a Q3). Higher quality food has now become a daily need as we can no longer use the Q1 food system with hospital recovery.

It can be argued then that the new hospital has the power to invigorate the economy because as we have seen, salaries are increasing and demands are also high. However, the economy is still down in the weapon/iron industries. The prices there are still low and with most of the money going on food it is questionable weather players can still afford the 5 weapons a day. The upcoming WW IV might solve that problem though.

I am eager to listen to other players' opinions. Please Vote and Debate.
