[DPJ] Congress election result and beyond

Day 919, 00:26 Published in Japan Japan by Democratic Party of Japan

Haven't had much of a chance to talk ever since coming back and getting back into the PP position of DPJ. Just want to say congratulations to all the candidates involved, those elected, and those from DPJ who helped us elect 3 members this term. I hope to be able to get to know you all in the coming weeks.

The following is a repost, an update of sorts, of what was posted on the forums for those who don't frequent the forums as much.

Thanks, Metic

Just a few notes, however, preparing for this month. We have now slid into 5th place, amongst attempts to shut out certain candidates running in the SC party. For the moment being, it looks like we will be remaining in this position for at least the next short little while, baring any serious attempts at our party or others. Therefore, we should start looking seeing who amongst the new members are actually playing, and raise our current activity levels once again.

Congress elections beyond this month are also thrown into doubt. While we could used to rely upon being able to field 2-3 candidates and running most of our votes there, that would be difficult to do in our position. I think a realistic goal for candidates next month would be to be able to run 15 candidates but we'll see as circumstances change.

As things go, Angrr has proposed a merger of some sort between the remaining Ronin members and DPJ that has been in the talks for quite awhile now. The current proposed name has been discussed along the lines of "Japanese Independents Party" with a logo forthcoming. More details will be sent to DPJ members later.
