[debate] Upping the Ante w/ aimeisan

Day 3,849, 16:50 Published in Ireland USA by General Hi Story of Trite
editor's note; Krakken asked to be removed from the ballot, so he was not contacted (nor has he apologized for calling me a multi)

I have been struck by the three way split between the country, for simplicity sake I will refer to them as moomoo, Trito and WHS factions. While it makes it difficult for any true unity it does allow for drama and trolling.

Trito has chosen to be an underhanded control freak, moomoo has the best sense of humor, but WHS hates moomoo more the Trito.

So if you are interested in a friendly debate for me to publish, first question would be which factions of the three I mentioned would you most likely appeal to (please feel free to correct my assumptions or offer your own interpretation)

aimeisan; When I came to Ireland I have chosen Trito's party (Eire Aonair) almost accidentally. That time EA was in opposition, the government was from Omega Eireann. In EA everyone have been friendly and supportive, especially Trito, so I will stay in his party. Moomoo has no conflict with Trito, only with WHS, we are on good terms with moomoo.

Ante; I came in eIreland like so long ago. I guess it was May 2014 and a friend of mine (known as MUFC from that day) invited me to join his party (Omega Eireann). I gladly came and from that day until Omega collapsed I stayed loyal to them. Trito I don't know really well bcs mainly he is new player and I am pretty old and wasn't really active during his reign(s). As of moomoo I didn't really have much conflict with him he is long time politician and we have known each other for far too long but our paths never seemed to cross. And lastly WHS. Same thing as for moomoo but in his case I was with MUFC at that time and therefore there were few hard words but now he genuinely seems like a nice guy and I am really keen on our relationship atm. ( I just wanna be in good relationship with everyone haha).

Peru, should they stay or go? Do you as the next CP want the training war to continue or if you want to end it how would you go about ending continual disruption that is there constant attacks?

aimeisan; I would like the congress to vote about to continue the TW or not.

We should know that some of our citizens may need the TW because of the TP money and medals. This is what the game mechanics enforce upon players in every country. At the moment it's not realistic for Ireland to have a TW in another country, because there is a huge demand for TWs and the free places are limited, we should be very lucky to find one. Basically only the biggest countries can afford to have TWs abroad while keeping their original regions intact. Many countries are into TWs with enemy countries on their cores, for example Egypt-Slovenia, Turkey-Poland, Italy-Serbia, Peru-South Korea, Albania-Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). So the situation of Ireland isn't something unusual.

Peru could be removed only with the help of allies. I can't tell now how much help we would receive, so if the congress votes no there will be no agreement, but I can't promise I can make Peru leave.

Ante; My opinion on TW is that it needs to end.

Of course it is source of income for citizens for their TP medals (CC). But as I see it we need to develop our own future. We must not be dictated by other country purely on the fact they give us 5k cc for it just to mantain at TW for supposed funding with TP money. For far too long we have been under this kind of pressure and I think if we have any bravery we must react. We cannot mantain as Peruvians puppets as Rusty said and I agree completely. If we continue this situation we are doomed for a long time and that is really sad to see what this country has ended up as... And for the end as Elizabeth Swann said in Pirates of the Carribbean:At World's End (my favourite franchise): "And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No. No, they will see free men and freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons. They will hear the ring of our swords, and they will know what we can do. By the sweat of our brows and the strength of our backs, and the courage of our hearts. Gentlemen. Hoist the colors!"

@aimesian, but congress is not reflective of anything. We do not even sit a full congress, and many (including myself) want no part of a dialogue with Trito because he is so utterly insincere. So I do not see a congressional vote as anything but a rigged outcome.

Next question; can either of you envision a larger community in Ireland and if so how would you go about building a larger player base?

aimeisan; Well, if I would simply decide the question that would be just even less reflective. The congress is theoretically elected by the Irish people, of course it's representative role can be rigged by multies, but on this basis any other way to get a reflective outcome can be equally rigged.

It's very difficult to increase the player base, but of course not impossible. We could do more to keep the new or returning players, or to promote immigration. The new players usually stay if we care about them and they feel that the community needs them. Many countries support the new/low strenght players to improve their aerial rank where they have less disadvantage than in ground battle, and can be useful for the country. At the moment there is no government level subsidy program and I don't plan to do such thing simply because I don't have funds for this.

Another aspect is what is the atmosphere of the community. Unfortunately the Irish community is divided and strained with conflicts, and I know players who left Ireland because of this. This is everyone's responsibility. I don't believe I can change this, but I try to be respectful with everybody and hear everyone's opinion.

Ante; But if you are CP you are leader and you need to decide what to do (all respect to congressmen) and if you really need some kind of help then acquire counselors for different departments and contact them.

Getting new players and larger base is really hard I agree. Many eIrish legends have left the game or left to other countries. As of now there are only 115 people and that is really disappointing. I think that only way to attract players is to rebuild our nation and make it fun playing again. As of "babyboom" I don't really know how to accomplish that. Back in the day it was done through RL media but now after 10 years it is hard to get even a dozen of new players. IMO that is too hard to even waste time on it but if someone has an idea I would gladly listen to it.

aimeisan; I don' want to pass the responsibility for the decision to the congress, but I think it's more fortunate to discuss it with them and see what they want before decision is being made.

Ante; True, we are not in totalitarianism but in 99% it is pointless imo.

Because they will always say the same thing about TW topic for instance. Parties are at these positons (1.-5.) for years now and difference between members is huge making anything fresh almost impossible to happen.

aimeisan; Well, I am relatively new to Ireland and not very familiar in these debates, so if anything, it would be good for me to learn what they think.

Ante; Oh I see. Well then you will understand what I am talking about in near future I guess.

Thank you both, I would like to add a closing remark from you both

Ante; For the end I would like to ask every citizen who wants something new in leadership within our country to step up tomorrow and vote for me because something new needs to happen and I think I can deliver refreshment into our homeland. For too long we were opressed by countries forcing us to do as they dictate. Changes as I can see need to happen and too long we are on endless path of doing nothing to stay on our own two feet. This type of gameplay is also the reason people are leaving our country or even quit playing because nothing happens and that is also the matter of question previously asked about making larger base of players. And lastly, I want to wish my opponent best of luck in upcoming elections.

aimeisan; It's not easy to solve the problems of eIreland, nor to make decisions that everybody would like. What I can promise is, I will consider all aspects, pay attention to the opinions of the community, and make the decisions that I believe to be best for eIreland. I wish good luck to my opponent in the upcoming elections.
