[DC] The Big Neighbour
Don Croata
America, hated by many people in this game and still always survive on the ‘stronger’ side is the topic of this article. I’ll try to give my opinion of the eUSA based on what I noticed in the few recent years. When my first character started to play this game eUSA was one of the strongest countries in the world. Luckily, my country, Croatia was in good relations with the ‘Muricans. That was when I first met some of the oldest eUS veterans, some of them still playing today. In all this years I’ve come to the conclusion that before quitting this game I should try out playing overseas. For a simple reason, USA is the most organised and yet the most special community in this game.
American Benefits
As one of the most famous American citizens described it in his ‘About me’ section: “All men are created unequal”. USA has been gifted by Plato with 50 regions. It’s been a topic to argue about for ages. Plato probably went by the logic of American 50 states in real life. Well not probably, but certainly. But there are many other countries with more states/regions in real life than they have in the game. The 50 regions country, by far biggest in eWorld has used their starting advantage maximally. It’s almost impossible for them to get wiped, with the recent changes they were able to have more than one full bonus regions, they are always able to elect greatest possible amount of congressmen and there were lots of other advantages they had and which they can thank to having 50 regions country. Is this something the rest of us can hold against them? I don’t think so. It’s not their fault they got a gift from Plato, it’s their ability to make this advantage worth what I admire them for. Without the perfect organisation they wouldn’t be able to use their regions the way they have always been using them.
English language is also one of the biggest advantages they possess. Spoken worldwide, it’s the language which can only attract people to their country. I believe that all those who are tired or mad on their own country are trying to find a community in which they could fit in nicely. When they search for one, they are probably looking for those in which they will be able to communicate with others. Only USA, Ireland, UK and Australia are naturally the countries in which english is the official language. eUSA is by far the biggest one of those which means that majority of people searching for a new home will choose USA as their new home. Many of those people posses some talents eUSA knew to use.
Another benefit of the USA is actually their RL strength. The price of gold packs in this game is basicly adjusted for Western European and American standards. Not many people from Balkans and other parts of the world can afford to spend 20% of the amount of their country’s average wage on this game. Americans can, it’s not too much for them to buy some extra golds, packs and whatever it takes. Since this game is pay2win for a long time, it’s just another advantage which served them very well.
Yes, they can!
The thing I always envied them for is organisation of basicly everything they do. To have things organized you’ll need some quality people and they had a lot of them. They always had them, since the start of this game. It takes quality to organise in the way they’ve organised themselves. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of some of their Military Units, such as Special Forces or Blacksheeps. Trust me, you’ll never find such a good organisation as they have. My experience there benefited me when I came back to eIreland and eCroatia. I was able to organise CrOmega, Irish Army and other MU’s I’ve been helping much better than I would be able without the American experience.
Their political parties, their organizations, their Ministers, their MU’s, basicly everything they do is expected to be organized in a very good way, much better than in other countries. Is it due to expectations or something else I’m not sure. Probably, the competition between the parties, MU’s and other stuff is the thing which fueled their advantage in this sector, but in the end they’ve created the most organised country in the world. Even now, when a lot of people has left the country, they are still keeping everything well in order even though there are just few people to play for. I’m especially inspired by their new players organisation. Imagine keeping everything in order, on the highest level while having like 3 new players per day from which none of them is actually a new player.
Isolation
eUSA has been isolated from all the historic battle centers in the world. Just like in RL that always served them very well. But even the bigger isolation is done by their people, political parties and other stuff. Citizens of other countries like to meet other citizens from other countries. I’m not saying Americans don’t, but they are a lot more focused on the citizens in their own country. For some reason, most of Americans care only about what’s happening in America. They don’t give a f**k about internal situation in other countries, or people, parties and other things outside of America. Now, I don’t want to generalize, probably some of them do, but that was the impression I had when I was there.
The isolation of America is probably the biggest reason why I would like to join eUSA before quitting this game. I’d like to fully focus myself in eUSA, probably it will be like a whole new level of Erepublik, moving from the macroeconomy to a microeconomy. USA is Erepublik within Erepublik. Or at least that’s my impression.
It’s obvious that USA is the biggest capitalistic country of all. They’ve had many economists, they still have more than any other country (maybe except Romania, but they are cheating). They care for economy, they care for their taxes, they are actually discussing their taxes. Whole political parties are made to discuss the tax changes!! Their market is usually the most competitive, regardless which market, jobs or products. Their economy is based on the resources they have and it’s the only thing (except for occasional proAlliance fighting) they are going to fight for. Try attacking some country in Balkans and World War III starts. Try attacking some neighbour of America they don’t care about - nothing happens. USA will fight for its resources. I’m not saying they are bad ally, but they are not THAT type of an ally.
Many underestimate their support to the alliance. Thanks to their perfect organisation their Military Units are actually following the orders, so when an alliance place something as a Priority, they are going to respect it. If there’s no American resource battle in progress. Ireland and the USA has been allies for years and I don’t remember them failing us even once. Sometimes they provide massive help, sometimes there are just few soldiers hitting, but when they say they gonna get s**t done, they do it. Maybe this isn’t some common opinion of the World, but it is my opinion. Afterall, I was ‘close’ to them.
America & Alliances
As I already mentioned, America isn’t seen as “Best ally ever” or something similar, but on the other hand, how many alliances have they changed? Not too much. Some common opinion is that America always finds themselves on the stronger side. This part is truth, at least lately. I can’t forget MU’s such as Marines, it was the most loyal, most organized and one of the strongest MU’s in the world. They are still loyal to their v1 allies. There are not many of them left, but I respect all of those who are still here. On the other hand, in some degree I respect those who decided to ‘change sides’ sometimes. America doesn’t attach themselves too much to anyone. They don’t show their feelings. They don’t do THOSE “Hail Brotherhood” shouts. They are simply pragmatic type of people and they play their own game. Sure, there are friendships between the America and other countries on many levels such as party related, private friendships and others, but once the country’s diplomatic directions is under question they carefully and methodically pick their steps. By doing this they have always been on the strong side.
Another common opinion is that “America needs to be in charge”. I can agree with this more than any other previously ‘commonly known’ stuff. USA likes to be in charge and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. It’s their choice and it’s the choice of other countries considering joining ‘their’ alliance. They’ve found Pacifica together with Russia and it turned out to be a great move. In the start they organised stuff because, well, they know how to do it. And it worked! Both Russia and USA are in a great position right now, their alliance got bigger, their countries became richer and their resources are f****ng awesome.
Final words
I’ve wrote this article because I was considering taking their citizenship few days ago, I even applied, but my application expired due to a region I've applied in wasn't anymore in the USA. One day, I will surely apply again simply to expirience the true living in eUSA. It’s something I want to do before this game ends.
That’s all folks,
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to share, especially if you're American! I would like to see your opinion about this article and not many of you are on my friendlist (yet).

Ireland/American Relationship is unique in this game. I do not remember the two countries every going to a real war against each other. Many training wars, attacks to help each other, and land swaps for renting, but never real war. Half the time they have been in different alliances but they have never attacked each other. I can not think of any other countries right next to each other that have had that relationship in this game over the years. eAmericans do take a while to trust new non eAmericans in my experience.
Yea, our relations are somewhat special...maybe that has something to do with the Irish heritage in the USA? I know for a fact that many of eAmericans have some parent originally from Ireland..
I am an American IRL My heritage is Scots Irish
maybe that has something to do with the Irish heritage in the USA?
That's exactly why!
eUSA organized?
Well I certainly agree that the common thread, that will get us all working together, is the defense of the resources/economy. About the only thing that does get us all to rally round the flag.
Over all a thoughtful article.
Thanks mate, get it shouted please. I would really like to see what eAmericans think of the article.
Very good article. You better not leave!
That's just something to do before eRetirement. Don't worry, I'm not feeling that old yet! 😃
loved this article.
talk to me when you want to move.
Will do, thank you!
Your article about moving holdings has inspired me to write some parts of it actually 😉

Don I am disappoint.
But seriously, nice article.

Yo if you come to America there is a spot for you in the SFP.
Thanks from the offer, I have a great friend who used to be a SFP member, he's now in Ireland.
Nice article. I can definitely agree on the part about isolation. Living in eMerica is all about playing in eMerica. Only the highest executive positions really show interest in the outside world and you could even argue that its because that's their job. Or you could argue that they have the job because they're one of the few that show interest. Either way. I think you nailed most of this.
We may not do "hail" shouts, but in TBSP, we baaa it up wherever we go.

"...I would like to join eUSA before quitting this game. I’d like to fully focus myself in eUSA..."
It could be eye opening for you. Just don't have high expectations. Long ago a little pickle made big noise. Many ignored the pickle, told the pickle "shhhhhh!". Some liked the pickle because he was different, straightforward, spoke his mind. My first few times in US Congress were a revelation to me. I feel in love with politics, the power of words. Still there was a glass ceiling for this pickle.
I went out into the eWorld with some expectations of success, who knew it would be like this? Switzerland was a bit of the flop but I'll admit some responsibility. I was still learning how to relate to non Americans. Canada was a blast but too many of the cool people quit playing. Australia is turning into a quite interesting place for me.
Ah, the US. Between Canada and Australia I fought to get US citizenship. I won't mention details but I must have left an impression. 😉 Kind of sad actually as some stuck their necks out to get me readmitted. I even was elected to Congress. Most boring time of my eLife. The old fire that made US great long ago is hone now. They have a playbook that tells them what to do for each situation. No thinking allowed.
Don, you are one of my older non American friends. Thank you for making the game interesting.
Glad to see the things from your perspective too bro.
Well, I hope you're going to enjoy your time in Australia. If that gets bored, you know Irish doors are always open for you, I believe you'd enjoy your staying here! 🙂
Funny thing, my perspective. After playing over 5 years I've come to realize it's just a damn game. Nothing more, nothing less. Like cards or board game, it's not fun if you don't play to win but it's also about spending time with friends. You discuss things in your life other than the game, the game is something you are doing while spending time with friends.
I believe I could play about anywhere and have a good time.
Voted Don.
America, Canada's pants.
Never thought I'd hear a hat talking 😮
LOL
ED funny
This is all Ibhoy's fault.
Say YES to Re-Broification
Tem, do you even remember what country you started playing in?
I started in Alberta, Canada because BC was occupied by Hungary at the time.
#OldFag
No mention of me, this article is clearly propaganda. Voted
When I was eYoung, Emerick made a real "bros > politics" play on eIreland's behalf, and that always stuck with me.
eIreland is a tiny neighbour next to USA which could have devour at any time tbh. Yet I don't believe eUSA has every made a hostile invasion of eIreland in this entire game.
How many superpower nations can point at any neighbouring country, let alone a convenient target, and say "we have never ever attacked that nation."?
v
Always respected you as a player and, more specifically, as a writer. It's very interesting to get an outside opinion having for my entire play experience only seen the inside of it. Good article. You may have prompted me to write a rebuttal of some sort lol.
Aww thanks! 🙂
I'm looking forward to it
Nice article o7

Not many people from Balkans and other parts of the world can afford to spend 20% of the amount of their country’s average wage on this game
e taka e u pm 🙁

Voted, now unite and attack eBukarest.
Thank you 🙂
Why don't you do it?
MU set to attack eBukarest first 100% of the time...circa 50% of the PAID STAFF play...per ePlato interview. Level the playing field, unite and attack them.
