[CPF] Post Election Analysis

Day 2,025, 15:09 Published in Canada Canada by Auk Rest

The June CP elections took place yesterday, and I must say, wow. It is amazing seeing the reactions of some individuals to the fact Oinyo was leading in the race. How does this relate to the CPF? Well today I am going to analyze what went right, what went wrong and just what happened in this election as it pertains to the Canadian Progressive Front, even though other individuals are involved in certain portions, I will be sticking to analyzing the CPF.

This review is not meant to hurt and feelings, but only present the honest truth so that we may learn and grow from this.

Analysis

First off, Dozzer, our presidential nominee received 23% of the vote or 79 votes, compare that to 112 members from the CPF, and a decline from last month in May where Dozzer received 27% or 105 votes.

Why did Dozzer receive less votes? Well this is attributable to many factors, the chief one probably being his decision to endorse Shoi of the Military Dictatorship Party halfway through the day to try and defeat Oinyo, despite the fact Shoi and Dozzer were virtually tied for second at that point.

As Dozzer was the democratically selected CP nominee from our party after going through a Primary I find it disgraceful that Dozzer decided to bow out and endorse Shoi. To the 80% or so of our Primary voters who voted for Dozzer in the Primary as their preferential first choice, I find this unacceptable he would give up so easily. That is not even mentioning the fact that Shoi finished last in our Primary and that not one voter in the Primary voted Shoi as their preferential first choice candidate.

To top it all off, Dozzer decided to leave the country today and take a break and refused a position in Oinyo's cabinet as dMoFA. I don't find this appropriate behavior for someone who was trusted to be the CPF standard bearer this election, who was supposed to carry forward and represent the CPF.

Another important topic is the amount of trolling, flaming, and needless bashing going on in the media and in the Moose Call. One of the tenets of our Party is the promotion of a positive political sphere. Neither the actions of Dozzer or certain members of the Party were doing so yesterday during the election. Clan Wolf and Oinyo were painted as foes that would destroy the country should Oinyo be elected, even though before the whole mudslinging campaign began amongst all individuals a few days ago it was commonly agreed that all three candidates were well suited to become CP.

I find this type of behavior completely inappropriate and it makes us no better than other parties who employed these sorts of tactics in the past. I'm not going to mention any names because doing so would only promote more conflict. I prefer to rule by consensus, not conflict, it's just not my style.

The CPF must do more in coming months if we want to have a successful CP candidate and ensure that the person chosen will do the best to truly represent the Party and to present such a candidate as qualified, presidential, and most importantly someone who represents the tenets of our party.

Announcements

With the analysis out of the way I do have an announcement to make, I do not plan on running for re-election as Party President, or running for it again anytime in the near future. This election has confirmed to me that we need new leaders with new visions, new ideas and a new direction going forward. I do not feel that my own activity has been satisfactory enough during this term, I feel it would be healthier to have someone else, new blood, in charge of the CPF, and for this person to go with an idea instead of maintaining the status quo.

To that end, Churchill93 has already released an article about it, so CPF members should take a read.

I still plan on being active with the Party and would be more than willing to assist the new Party President with certain functions of the Party and of course in assisting new players.
