[CPF] A 2-Clicker Revived

Day 2,218, 18:11 Published in Canada Spain by JonathonEdwards

Well, the Party Presidential Elections yesterday proved to be a bit more exciting than anticipated, at least insofar as the Canadian Progressive Front was concerned.

We had 3 candidates:

Jack's Broken Heart was the shoe-in candidate that most of the party supported, at least it appeared that way before the votes began to be cast. He had a campaign article, is a sitting congressman who has been quite active, and is active in our ingame PM threads.

Alex p buccieri was our only other legitimate contender - legitimate in that he did want to win, and did not put forth his name as a lulz contender. However, he was mostly unknown to the party, and did not campaign well. No ingame article - heck, he doesn't even have a newspaper! I did, as I assume many others did, get a PM from him asking for my vote - and nothing more - no argument why I should, just a request that I do.

Our eventual winner - our new Party President - Lelouch VI Britannia has admitted he only pushed the "Run for Presidency" button as a lulz move, something he has done for the last several months, garnering at most only 8 votes prior to this month. The CPF leadership, perhaps naively, did not consider this "candidate" someone to be concerned with.

Why Lelouch and Jack's Broken Heart ended up in a 29 - 29 tie has been subject to much speculation within the CPF party chambers. The total number of votes the CPF garnered in this election has been consistent with the last several months.

So while Jack is undoubtedly disappointed with the result (Lelouch won the Experience Points tie-breaker), one unexpected, but quite positive result is that Lelouch has promised to increase his activity to a level consistent with an engaged and involved Party President. So not only does the Canadian Progressive Front have a Party President who has proven himself faithful to the party in the past, and as such has a postive track record, but one who has been galvanized to kick to the curb, so to speak, his 2-clicking ways, and become a committed, active player for the party.

This in itself can only be seen as a win for the Party. Jack's Broken Heart has demonstrated no ill feelings, and has pledged his support to Lelouch. Most of the party has already followed suit. So for whatever reason Lelouch VI Britannia won (conspiracy theories abound), it has only made the premier Party of eCanada, and therefore, eCanada itself, that much stronger. A win for the Canadian Progressive Front, and a win for eCanada. Who could ask for more?

Hail the Blue Moose!
