[CP] We are often our own worst enemy

Day 2,002, 05:37 Published in India Canada by Alias Vision

The pride of India was not lost in Gujarat.

The honour of India was not lost in Gujarat.

Some have been asking me why I haven't responded more forcefully to the people personally attacking me and the individuals working with me. A lot has to do with the fact that I needed to decide just what I wanted to say and what I could say. It would be easy to attack back, highlight their half-truths and outright lies or attempts to manipulate and control the message. But all those things would destroy at a time when India needs to build.

But hold it you cry! How can you speak of building when you just sold India's last region?

The friends that India has, have friends of their own. When all the friends call you at the same time for your help, you don't have a choice but to prioritize where you go and what you do. You simply can't be everything to everyone.

So our friends prioritize😛
Themselves first.
Their alliance second.
Their geopolitical interests third.

This does not make them bad friends, it makes them human friends. Nations (careful, not individuals) are only selfless once all other of their needs are met. Because we live in such chaotic, alliance shifting times, those needs are rarely entirely satisfied.

Part of the problem for India is that we don't currently have enough alliance friends. This is not due to any one individual or Government but it happened by attrition over time. So the task of any new executive is to build new relationships and new links. This takes time. If we pressed, I'm confident we could sign many new MPPs in short order but how many of those would count? How many of those would be mutually beneficial?

MPPs cost money. India happens to have a healthy reserve. The reason we have this reserve is because subsequent leaders, as disappointing as you think they may be, made an effort not to throw good money after bad. We could spend 100k cc on alliances and 500k cc on damage tomorrow if we wanted... and yet would be no further ahead in a week as we are now because that damage and those alliances would not be sustainable.

And that is an important point. In India, the treasury is a finite resource that is not replenishing.

Bulgaria has been to our aid in the past and the present. They will come to our aid in the future. Bulgaria is a sustainable alliance and so that is why we are renewing it. Others will be signed and renewed but they will have to meet minimum hopes of providing us with benefits.

My job as CP is to take the assets we have and use them to the best of my ability. That sometimes means taking one asset and transforming it into something else for a later use. Gujarat was an asset we were losing and I attempted to transform it into something that we could use later.

I can hear the owls now... Gujarat is not an asset! You understand nothing!

To your outrage I'll ask... where was your outrage that last two times Croatia eliminated us from the map and we had to start back from zero? Where was your outrage when BiH was allowed to enter our lands? Where was your outrage when Pakistan was allowed to gain a foothold and eventually move their capital to occupied territories?

Could it be that it was because you understood the difficulty of our situation back then and that India needed to learn to adapt to move on? Or worse, could it be it was because you were inactive or didn't care enough to try and be outraged?

Because while this apathy was going on, some continued to work. Some asked for help. Some were willing to put in the hours to find solutions.

There are only two things that will allow India to dictate her own terms. The first is a greater engagement from its current citizens and a willingness to sacrifice some personal rewards for the group's gains. The second is a bigger population. The great hope, a baby boom.

Well... I've been looking and not many who are outraged also have society builder medals. So use your passion and your desire and get people involved, invite people. Build a critical mass that will allow you to stand on your own, fully free and clear of outside interference.

In the meantime, those like me who have been elected to do a job will continue to do that job. We will continue to try and use our assets for the greater good and we will continue to try and build the relationships that India will need tomorrow and all the further tomorrows to be successful.

Thank you,
