[CP] Update Five: Peace Money and More

It’s been a mostly quiet couple of days, though there are a few things I need to bring to your attention today.

As I said last time, I’m going to steal somebody else’s style for these announcements, simply because I’ve always thought it’s the most simple and easy to understand; so thanks to Addy Lawrence for this!






ON THE NHS

Did you know, oh young players, that you can receive free health every day, courtesy of the NHS? Simply send a private message to Blue and Evil and he’ll sign you up! If you want more info on it and how it works, he’s your port of call.

ON HONOURS

ON CABINET…

There has been one addition to cabinet since my last article. Ayame Crocodile has graciously accepted the role of Minister of Health.

The MoD would like me to remind you all that an ALL UK CITIZENS strike will be occurring on Wednesday evening in #MoD at 8PM BST (12:00 Erep time) – we’ll be supplying all UK Citizens with free weapons for this strike.

I’m also pleased to announce that Emergy Maxfell has graciously donated some Q6 weapons to us for use in ‘A Call to Arms,’ so we’ll be running that program again sometime this week.


ON THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

One of my manifesto promises was to institute a ministry of health, with the specific remit of raising funds for new players and facilitating their giving our for various purposes. This was originally folded into the Ministry of Education, currently headed up by Betafoxtrot, but both he and I agree that it’ll be better served by its own minister with this as their main remit. So thanks Ayame- and please do look out for opportunities for new players opening up soon, and ways in which you can help out! ON THE MoE CENSUS

The MoE has started a little census to see who is active in the UK, and at what division / strength etc they’re at. They’ll be using this to help shape our understanding of our capabilities and to target some PMing, guides and schemes to those that need it most.

Beta would like me to tell you he won’t have an article out tonight as he’s PMing people for this, offering help / advice where appropriate too. Not a bad effort at all!


ON USING ORGANISATIONS TO MAKE MONEY

Carlini8 has released a report today with raw figures from our first foray of the month into the monetary market. He’s explained very well how this happens so I won’t repeat it here, but I will give you the headline figure: We made 70k CC in ten days- almost doubling our income. With much more money coming in soon, our income will have far surpassed what was previously thought possible by tax alone, so Carlini’s hard work is really paying off. It’s great news, just what we wanted to hear!



ON THE POLITICAL PARTY SUMMIT…


The summit on Sunday was a failure in my estimation. Beforehand I predicted that most people attending had no interest in change, and within a few minutes I was proven to be right. This in and of itself isn’t a problem; political differences are often the very lifeblood of a country, keeping everyone on their toes and ensuring competition. The failure wasn’t in agreeing to disagree, it was in the manner of this conclusion- namely the descent into insult and admonition. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to those affected by my own conduct at the meeting. I normally pride myself on being even-tempered and balanced, unfortunately on Sunday I rather lost it and was throwing out insults and offensive language left, right and centre, and for that I apologize. If the CP can’t maintain a professional attitude, how can we expect the rest of the country to?

I implore all involved to embrace the differences in our community, but warn all to steer clear of insults and offensive behaviour- it helps none of us.


ON IRELAND…

Peace was finally signed with Ireland. Both countries have successfully regained all original regions and we’ve managed to stop the war in its entirety. I’d like to thank our Irish friends for their patience with the UK during this endeavour, it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride but we’ve made it. Hopefully, we can now push on from here and form a lasting friendship; this can only be to the benefit of both nations, and seek to secure a lasting and successful future for all.
