[CP]Prudent and Necessary
VoxHumana
Citizens of eUSA,
Greetings to you, and salutations from the Office of the President.
Thank you all for maintaining a high level of interest in this game and in the present circumstances of our beloved eUSA.
Current events will cause some disagreement among us. I ask us all to disagree with respect. Your philosophical opponents care just as much about this country as you do. In the end, as is the American way, the majority will rule.
I have pushed the button.
The airstrike action against Brazil is a decision to enter into a new era in eUSA. It is a declaration of support for Asterian nations like Romania, Serbia, Iran, Bulgaria, Peru, Italy, and Portugal.
This action is both prudent and necessary.
Before I make my case, I will also assure you that Congress has been given ample opportunity to discuss the question of a "pro-Asteria" movement, that they have done so with exemplary decorum, and that the final vote on the airstrike will reflect the good work they have done. Until those votes are tallied, I take full responsibility for this action. But once it passes, please understand that it becomes eUSA's action - the will of the people. Congress too will have pressed the button.
I therefore call upon ALL who have citizenship in this great virtual Nation to support the Congress and its decisions.
When this Airstrike law passes, FIGHT.
The Past Must Not Dictate Our Future
We now place our great Nation into the sphere of influence guided by Nations who once were our enemies. To do so is a major shift in foreign policy. There is precedent for this both in this game and in real life.
It is not so difficult to discern what makes a particular nation an enemy. When its designs are antithetical to the well-being of eUSA, or the allies of eUSA, it is an enemy.
It is similarly easy to discern what might make a particular nation a worthwhile ally. If its designs are to prosper eUSA and/or the allies of eUSA, it is a potential ally.
However, especially in a game with 30-day leadership cycles and constantly evolving international dynamics, it is wrong to define “Ally” and “Enemy” merely on past associations. If historical alliances alone dictate our foreign policy, we are tyrannized by the past.
This means we cannot be a free Nation if we are bound by long-broken kinships and ancient pacts of friendship between citizens who no longer play this game. Our Nation is ours; our future is in our hands. Our tomorrow is not a slave to our yesterdays.
The Past Must Influence Our Future
It is also true that a nation which does not learn from the past is doomed to repeat it.
And once again, in a game that features every-30-day elections, recent history should be our loudest instructor. It should not be our only instructor, but it should be the first voice of reason.
When a nation abandons us on the battlefield, we learn.
When players treat us with contempt, we learn.
When an Alliance implodes with infighting, we learn.
And when a group of nations honors us for what we are and can be… we learn.
Neither our Congress nor our State Department is populated with fools. They know their history. They have observed and participated in many events in this game, and they have learned their lessons well. The past must influence our leadership such that eUSA will prosper among nations who respect us and will stand to defend us against those who would do us harm.
The Future Must Be Built On Hope
Those who have been given the trust of public leadership cannot afford a cynical view of our Nation’s future.
We must analyze every point of data and determine what course of action puts our Nation and its citizen-economy into the best possible scenario. That is why, when faced with Asteria’s invasion and a crumbling CODE, President Bubblar agreed to sign the NAP that has resulted in a season of unprecedented prosperity - also bolstered by Plato’s Hot Summer Event.
Look at the following shout which appeared on my friends feed this morning:
PimpDollaz is not alone. Thousands of medals and hundreds of thousands in Gold were available to citizens of eUSA. None of this would have been possible had our Training War partners not upheld a diligent around-the-clock continuance of dozens of battles.
Realize this: eUSA along with Asteria and others within her sphere prospered greatly through cooperation and synchronized military operations. Yes, they are called “Training Wars” because there is no drama of actual war. But these training wars require no less attention to the mechanics of attack times and regions and determination and all of the other dynamics of war in this game. In other words, we have been working together with Asteria like clockwork. And it’s been GREAT.
As I look forward in hope, the best future I see is one which partners eUSA with allies who bear the kind of personality and character that I have seen and enjoyed from the Nations whose next military action we now move to support.
In attacking Brazil, eUSA has offered its military strength on a legitimate battlefield. This is not a Training War, we are joining forces with those in and allied with Asteria.
The purpose of this war is their purpose. But our participation serves our best purpose: building a future on hope.

Insanity
Defend your accusation
When a country does what this one has, it makes itself a hated target.
Mark my words, the chickens WILL come home to roost, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but at some point we are going to get it.
That is not a case for "insanity", that is a difference of opinion.
The insanity comes in the fact that we didn't have to do this..... but this country never learns from it's past.
Do you really think it "insanity" to take a defensible action which moves us in the direction of a highly-functioning alliance which has expressed its desire to work with us and for us to work with them? Because if you are defining that as "insanity", then I don't think we can have a reasoned argument.
But if you want to make a case for why it is imprudent or unnecessary, then we can probably dialogue.
In terms of prudence, I have stated my case above.
In terms of necessity, I will admit that my case is less solid but still defensible. What is necessary is that we begin making decisions. So if you want to argue the necessity of doing nothing, I think I will win that argument. If you want to make an argument that some other action is necessary, I will refer you back to my argument for prudence.
Either way, I do believe that this is the best possible future for eUSA.
Most of the responsive debate points are 'classified', so no Im not spreading that out here.
As far as I can recall I never said to do nothing, I just said to go in other directions.
I did speak against the provocative ways certain things transpired, and I will stand by that argument forever.
There are ways to do things without creating bitter enemies, the USA clearly has not figured that out.
I don't mind having bitter enemies as long as I have reliable friends.
So Krapis is the clean hands the meta-heads needed to turn the U.S into an Asterian lapdog. I suspected as much all along: an ambitious noob with no understanding of or appreciation for the history of the game was a perfect tool. The same halfwits behind the attack on Croatia are still in control.
I can tell you that I know what I'm doing, but you won't believe me.
I will ask you this: what is your problem with Asteria?
12 years of history with it's constituent members
Of course you "know", junkie ... the problem is you will end up just like the first Pfeiffer, and we will all pay for your incompetence and stupidity. I very much hope that you will not be re-elected, our party will not support you in any case.
How can you claim to know what you're doing and then ask what my problem is with
asteria? It's self-contradictory.
Im glad to see that there are still few true friends in eUS, and who understand this situation and decision as it really is.
We are hated by most, if not all of them regardless of what we do.... RL has enhanced that is major ways. Players have referred to everything from our role in the Balkan War to Trump in comments......... Asteria, no Asteria, Phoenix, People's GC, none of it really matters because to many we represent whatever version of the "great Satan" or Satin, they they want to conjure up in their heads.
GO Krapis, let's Get 'er done!
In my dealings with the diplomats from other eNations, I have not seen or heard any RL bias being thrown about. The Asterian diplomats I have worked with are very serious about game mechanics and winning. I TOTALLY respect that.
It is true, many modern players. I overstated my point. In much more simple terms, Haters are going to hate, they are going to find a reason to hate us. I, like many others, especially you, Krapis, find the game interesting because of the strategy; game mechanics.
Players who overly invest in Role Play or Real Life are doomed to be caught up in anger and frustration.
I am totally with you. Let's have fun!
What an exciting time to be alive.
It is.
Тhe corrupted and ignorant bot likes little Pfeiffer ... how cute!
Damn dude. Pfeiffer lives in your head 24/7. I like you man, but you're a bit over the top.
