[CP-3] Airstrike / Aerial Training

The current article concerns a situation that is subject to new developments. This article will be updated as the situation changes.

Apologies, but unfortunately, due to some homework / exam-related time constraints on my part, this article will not be translated into French.

Good morning, eCanada! Hope everyone is doing well on this Saturday morning. It's quite nice and sunny outside, and the temperature is a balmy -2 degrees.

It's hard to believe that we're already three days into the term! Once again, I'd like to thank all Canadians for voting our government into office. Our team is committed to ensuring that this month will be an exciting one!

This communiqué was prompted by the fact that our office received some concerned PMs from attentive citizens when they logged in this morning, and saw this on their screens.

Firstly, we would like to apologize for the lack of prior communication on this topic. As a part of transitioning from government to government, myself and the Core Team were still busy trying to set up PMs, send out friend requests, track down payments from past months... you get the point.

The situation is as follows: Roughly 20 hours ago, Exalted Druid, our Prime Minister, received a PM from the government of the Rep. of Macedonia that they wished to land in our core territory. They are planning to assist Serbia and Romania in the occupation of the United States.

Canada has long cooperated with Asteria and her allies. Today is no exception to that. Furthermore, even if Canada was to reject this proposed airstrike, our ability to defend against it ourselves would be minimal. It is for these reasons that the Government has agreed to host Macedonia for a short time.

Trial Canadian Air Training Program - Please Read!

In other news, we are currently in the preliminary discussion and planning stage for a potential Canadian Air Training Program. This program would be largely funded by the Government of Canada and would NOT require members to join a specific Military Unit or organization.

Members would receive a certain amount of currency each week to assist with costs of purchasing food, or simply to encourage aerial combat. This program would likely serve low to mid level players.

Please click on the following link to be redirected to a StrawPoll survey about the interest in this project. The survey should take no more than 30 seconds: Click me!

This survey will be used to gauge the public interest in such a program. The program would likely run as a trial for the next 3 weeks in the term, and at that point we would assess its viability and success.
