Bunker Down

"The motto of the Netherlands is translated into English as 'I will uphold.' But I want you to know that, as we go forward, our message together is not just 'I will uphold,' but 'we will uphold.'"

My home

It was a beauteous sight
Nestled in the hills and
Tucked within a shaded valley
There I felt at home

Every where that I did trod
My beating heart was left behind
Speaking of that vision now
Fills my clouded eyes with tears

I wish that I had never seen
Nestled in the hills
That simple house
That became my home
And soon was smote

War had ravaged our Northern front
But I did fret about
Seeking nothing but to hold
Out for peace, surely... no doubt...

As I was drawing up
Many stuffy loan papers
The bombs to the West gave me no

And on my first day,
While retaining the keys,
A never-ending fray
Was overtaking the East

I cared not a bit as the Southern
Front fell, completing their stranglehold
In my fortress so grand, I'm ashamed,
To say I became rather bold

No one can see me
I paraded without care
As the choppers swept up above

No one can hear me
I bellowed and yelled out
As flashlights swept out from the brush

No one can touch me
I shiver and look up-
