Join the new world

It seems curious why I would be running for the presidency this term. Once again our top two parties have refused to lock horns, on top of this they have the fifth placed party in tow and will no doubt hoover up most of the ESO/PCP votes. Add into the equation that our third and fourth placed parties are backing different candidates...then on the surface this will be the most one sided election we have witnessed for a long time.

I expect to be humbled by this election. Indeed looking at the raw numbers a safe bet for the results would be: Mitte 62.5% King Willy 19.1% CptChazbeard 18.4%...though this doesn't account for King Willy's week long 'troll' proposal stint when he got to the buttons.

So why f*cking bother? Same reason I always do, to actually try and get things done without worrying about treading on someone else's toes. Defeat doesn't bother me either, I've lost elections before but I have outlived any player who defeated me.

There is another reason for running. We moan about a lack of interest in the game yet we ourselves are sabotaging it by devaluing our politics and at the beginning I frankly found this election to be an insult to the eUK. My words may sound harsh but when my own activity or dedication to the eUK gets laughably called in to question...throwing stones in glass houses comes to mind.

From the outside it would look as though a UKRP player who has done absolutely nothing for the past god knows how long has returned from the eDead and been catapulted straight into the top job...this is eerily familiar to what happened two months ago. In no way do I think that Mitte is quite the same calibre of player as Dish, I certainly hope not anyway for all our sakes, but the mind absolutely boggles that this is being allowed to happen again so soon. Lo, it has and they have already won the election in all but name.

The next serious candidate is Prince Willy. Certainly one of the 'characters' of the game and the umpteenth reincarnation of a long fallen American madman (apparently). He surprised a lot of people when he took so many votes from the long established Appleby, though it can be questioned whether the votes were for him or against Appleby.
Either way Apples was justifiably impeached later on in the term and King Willy went on to carefully and thoughtfully propose a series of laws by smashing his head into the keyboard whilst laughing.

So at the beginning the choices were:
a.) Jobs for the non-gender specific (I think that's right these days)
b.) An absolute nutcase.

And let's be honest, even if we elected a.) that doesn't necessarily mean we won't get b.).

That's why I run today under the banner of The Skatalites and supported by UKPP and TRS. God that takes me back.

An alternative to that choice. Though by the looks of it most of the work the current government has started is simply going to be continued, I like to think that I do offer something a little different, a little bit of oldfag mixed with a little bit of the impassioned swivel eyed lunacy of an eager noob. Either way I'm time proven not to abandon ship regardless of what gets thrown up in front of me.

Anyway. Enough ranting, here's a manifesto.

As I've mentioned before my biggest shortcoming is probably my lack of media presence. I don't take a long run up to elections by pumping in out pointless articles and sadly I have this insane notion that if I want to talk to people I can do so in a message.

So I promise to go about doing things as I always have done but to try and make a big f*cking song and dance about it at the same time.

Supplies
I will continue and further promote the subscriptions supplies system we have in place. At present we have 35-40 players being regularly supplied both tanks and food without having to ask for it, all we ask in return in that they remain active. This to me is a marked improvement on 5-10 people having to ask every two days for tanks.

No eUKer should be regularly fighting with anything less than a Q7 weapon.

Additional supplies will be handed out for any major 'operations' and the MoD is free to hand out supplies on top of this is anyway they see fit (i.e. rewards, competitions etc).

Communications/Orders
As vCP this term I have tried to take a step back from the Hellfire Groups but I continue to believe this is the best way to keep the troops informed in greater detail, with more relevant information and it allows us a degree of secrecy.

Let's utilise the tools available to us also. CotD will always be set to the most important MPP battle (or not set if RW/non-MPP is prio) and we can shout basic orders in the national feed. (I will send a ticket asking that the 'x' has attacked 'y' notifications be gone.)

On top of that here's what else we will do to enhance communication.

- RW timings to be issued to our troops so we can benefit from the rewards available.
- A weekly recommended DO list provided to commanders. (Ultimately it's their MU so they can do what they want)
- Threads set up for individual allies so they can readily message us in game if they need help, and to remind them this is all they need to do.
- With Hellfire being the promary source of information MoD articles will instead be informative and fun. I want articles to promote what is good about the eUK rather than a bloody link.

Aviation
We currently have a Spitfire group for our top pilots that I wish to take advantage of and work closely with in garnering their opinions on how to improve our prowess in the skies. I have a few ideas on paper but our pilots will know what will work.

I also want us to identify weaker, active players and encourage them to switch to aviation. (I'll speak about target audiences in home affairs).

Huey continues his excellent work for our country and whilst I will ask him to be a part of discussions regarding aviation, I believe the work he currently undertakes in this field is a private enterprise and the government should not interfere.

War
I would like to take a moment to thank both Georgia and Sweden for their co-operation this month in providing us with some TP opportunities.

Ultimately a lack of fire-power from Georgia hindered their abilities despite heroic tanking from their CP.

Sweden we have had less problems with in that regard and in private conversation their government have been an absolute pleasure to work with.

Considering this and the smooth running of the TW to date I am happy for this to continue is all concerned are also up for it.

On top of this however I believe that Harambe has left the country in an excellent state going forward and I will pursue a war in which to sink our teeth into. I have my sights on a target that of course I won't openly discuss today and...yeah it looks a bit tricky...but hell we might as well give it a go.

Target Audience.
What helps one person won't help another, which is why Hellfire gets split up by divisions at present. We have a number of schemes that are aimed towards specific types of players and the first task of the MoHA would be to put together a list of these players.
We don't have many active dudes ffs so it's probably one evenings work.

Housing Benefits
We have already attempted to promote, aid and increase the use of houses in this eNation. Whilst it has made a small difference, overall take up was poor. We will continue to promote the benefits of housing and offer assistance. By compiling our target audience list however we can directly communicate with those we feel will benefit most from it...it's like some thought has actually gone into things.

Zaphod Awards
As outlined in my previous manifesto we will implement community awards recognising those special individuals for their efforts in this game.

There will be a wide array of categories with the winners being decided by a cross party panel and nominees being put forward by our players.

There will be prizes and the such like but this is merely for a bit of a laugh.

Fun, games, blablabla, the MoHA is at liberty to do whatever else they want.

I'm looking for someone to sit on the Telegram App thingy and spy on allies whilst I drink away all my problems down the pub.

Maybe write a 'Hell' to other nations at the start of the term of something. Odd article about how “Nope, not a lot is happening right now” wouldn't go amiss.

We need to educate people with educational stuff.

Oh and if anyone is up for it I would like a comprehensive guide to the military rolled out over the term. A viation, division switching, ghost fighting...there been a few changes since we last had an all encompassing guide published.

I don't know what's happened but congress is eerily silent, even if nothing is going wrong people usually still find something to rant about.

We have a power sharing deal in this nation of ours, congress holds a lot of sway when it comes to things and their opinion matters.

I will, as always, work very closely with congress and not only that, I'll give them stuff to talk about. National budget, war...plenty to discuss and we really need to have a word about our geopolitical position.
