Join the new world

So here it is, the second and final instalment to my manifesto. This half will deal with the opposite side to domestics the Military and Foreign Affairs!

Onto the Military

As I said in my last manifesto, I’m very experienced in the domestic side. But my experience doesn’t end there, I’ve also spent a lot of my time in eRepublik in the eUK Military, especially in my early days. Something I was fortunate to see that many have not was the Royal Navy (not to be confused with the eRoyal Navy that is run by the UKPP). Everyone that was in the Navy that are still around now will say more or less the same thing about it, that it was one of the best times they’ve had in this game. Of course, there is a level of rose-tinted glasses to it, the Navy was not without its problems, but one of the things it excelled in was also the key reason it was so fun – the community. Now I’m not going to come here and say I will bring back that level of community again, Rome wasn’t built in a day, but I do think it’s about time we make an attempt to start the process to bring back that level of community. You don’t have to be an expert to see there is no sense of community in the military now. There are no recruitment articles, no one knows how to join and all it is at the moment is a body of people who are paid in weapons. There is simply no contact. There is no military, official or independent, that can work with this level of interaction. What I propose is simple, though hopefully the new name “British Expeditionary Force” isn’t rushed into use in the next two days. The military will be re-split into the UKAF and UKSF but this time the UKSF will have a use. While both units will collect what they produce everyday, the UKSF will get as many weapons as they can use so long as they come on IRC and are able to move to various countries to take part in Resistance Wars around ONE. The UKSF will become a proper mobile unit once again. Not everyone will be eligible to join UKSF and there will be certain requirements in order to join in the way of strength and damage to be worked out once we have a sufficient number of people in the Military. There’s also the issue of contact with people in game too so MoD orders will be released daily if I am elected. To help the community within the military grow, there’ll be a shake up within IRC and the forums and people will be encouraged to use them.



On the flip side of the coin we have the Military Units that are independent. There are a fair number of Military Units within the United Kingdom now, but there is a discrepancy in the supplies offered between the larger Military Units and the smaller ones that can’t afford companies. Something I started writing when I was Minister of Defence was an idea of creating a minimum supply for MUs. This is not to say I will be looking to give out money for nothing, it will be quite the opposite in fact. The Ministry of Defence will work with Military Units to create a document with a few details of what each Unit offers their members, their size and their assets and from that we will form criteria which Units have to meet in order to receive subsidies. The Military Units that meet criteria, fight where we tell them and work to improve themselves and the eUK will receive a set amount of subsidy weekly, that will increase or decrease according to what they are able to offer. This won’t cause an uneven playing field, it will simply raise the bar for those who wish to remain independent from the Military but are unable to compete at any level. However this issue will be policed and any slacking will result in the loss of the subsidy.

Finally on the Military side I’d like to talk briefly about citizen supplies. At the moment there is a lot of advertisement for supplies for ONE and pro-ONE citizens above 4k strength to get supplies. Should I get in I will restart daily supplies for UK citizens that will run every day for the length of one or two rounds.

On Foreign Affairs now.

It’s nice to see that with our regions returned, the calls to leave ONE have fizzled out and gone. This is good, we should not have left and there’s no reason for us to leave now. We should however turn to the other problems we have, namely the re-occupation of France. At the time of writing London is held by France again and Canada is trying to take our regions despite some internal problems. If I am elected CP, I will set-up discussions with the CP of Canada and the CP of France through my contacts in TEDEN, namely the potential next POTUS of the USA Artela, so I can keep a channel open between our countries whether we can negotiate a deal or not. Any deals will be voted on by congress. Meanwhile I will continue to honour the dealing we have with Ireland with my contacts within the country too. One thing I’d like to do is set up an informal summit for all of ONE and pro-ONE MoFAs so that we can all meet and greet in preparation for the month ahead and build relationships!
