Join the new world

Foreign affairs is what allows any nation to stand. Without it, we would probably have been wiped long ago. It opens channels of communication with new countries, and old -- allies and enemies. It gets us Mutual Protection Pacts to help defend our borders, and helps negotiate region swaps to supply our citizens and businessmen and women. It is literally the backbone of every nation, and a key linchpin in every government’s agenda. But even the best foreign affairs team will struggle to make progress without a strong and capable military. What I have written below is my outline on how to continue keeping the UK strong and how to constantly strive to make us as well-regarded and respected as possible.


Foreign Affairs

Foreign Affairs is a field which I appreciate a great deal and, now that we’re moving closer to ONE, is becoming even more important.

To begin with, let’s start with Ireland -- a subject that is quite important to all of us. The current situation with our Irish war is one of stalemate, for the most part. Our main goal is to secure fruits and to continue enjoying the benefits of our Natural Enemy bonus. I would be open to the idea of negotiating with the Irish to see if we could hammer out an agreement that would allow us to retain fruits and the NE bonus, without jeopardising our position. We would go into these negotiations on our own terms and I would reject any agreement that did not secure for the eUK security and prosperity.

While we continue our effort to erase the Paddies, we should start exploring other options to grow the influence of the eUK in the world. After all, this game is cyclical, and TEDEN will one day have an edge over ONE again. We’ve seen Ireland knocking on London’s door with TEDEN support already. For those of you with eyes on other exotic lands, do not fret! If an opportunity comes for us, I personally guarantee that we will seize it.

We are growing ever closer to ONE, and we have some great allies that will stand staunchly by us, Serbia, for instance. I intend to stand firmly behind this trend and will continue making our relationship with ONE ever stronger. We will continue to seek ONE MPPs.



Military

As I have been involved with the military for pretty much the entire time I’ve been in this game, I take a great interest in military affairs. I think this past month has seen too much attention lavished on UKEF at the expense of the rest of the UKAF. That is why I intend to merge UKEF back into UKSF, meaning both UKAF and UKSF members will be elligible for more supplies -- a demand voiced often by the rank and file soldiers of our fair land. We’ll keep the possibility open for more supplies for large battles, too. I understand people will feel conflicted over taking supplies from the hardest hitters, but I do not believe it is beneficial for the whole UK to starve the lower levels of the UKAF. If we can supply the lower echelons of the UKAF better, we can increase the overall damage output of the military. Once UKEF and UKSF merge, supplies will be increased in both divisions substantially.

Regiments of the UKAF will be merged back together again as well. If commanders want to track the activity of their members, they can easily do it through their Military Units. UKAF members will also use #ukaf and UKSF members will use #uksf, instead of separate channels for all the different divisions. The MoD and I will be quick to remove slackers in command, and we hope to continue the trend of ranking up capable newer members into command as one things that has changed for the better is that command is made of younger players. Activity will be rewarded over seniority.



After the success of Land Grants for all citizens, I’ll also look to offer people who have been in the UKAF and UKSF a month to buy an Oil Rig so they can increase their daily income and become more self-sufficient, allowing supplies to be more efficiently distributed.

I would like to handle our foreign affairs through military support along side our ONE allies in joint strikes. Not only to increase our relations, but to show we care and want to help. Hopefully the favor will be returned when we need it. Last but not least, we must continue to strive toward making joining the military as easy quick as possible. It is fairly self explanatory, but we meant to stop people from getting bored and quitting before their applications are processed.
