[Beta]My Frerking Domestic & Economics

Day 1,382, 14:40 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Betafoxtrot

Hello again eUKers o/

Since I became Minister of Home Afairs while I was in military command over 12 months ago, I realised that the ministry wasn't just for fun and games and that it's absolute main focus should be retention through education. It's the reason I created the Library Project all those months ago and it's what I've been trying to make as widespread and as accessible as I possibly can. While I'm not saying they should do no games and competitions, what needs to be concentrated on is helping new players who join the game. Just take a look at what I've done with the MoHA this month and you'll see that, with mentoring being overhauled and stream lined, players messaged the day they join and other things. Instead of what has been common practice the last couple of months, I will not favour two ministers in Home Affairs. This is because, as people point out all too often, there isn't enough work to make having two Ministers worthwhile. Instead we'll revert to the Minister-Deputy-Department heads-apprentice system that has been proved to work successfully.

Speaking of which, I'll start by talking about the "Interactive eGovernment Website", originally proposed by Jhorlin, being worked on now by Draaglom under Thorrold. Even then, I liked the idea and was very interested in it. Draag has been working on it all month now, and the fruit of his labour is starting to get closer and closer to completion. This is one thing I'd really like to be finished as it will be of great benefit to new players and even older players who don't want to have to trawl through the forums or wikis to be kept up to date. For those of you who don't know of it, it will have API capabilities (unless eRep decides to remove it again) so we can run regular opinion polls and surveys or a census or two more easily and more efficiently. It gives people a chance to have their voices heard with relatively little work their end, making it more attractive to use. It will have links to all the latest government articles, summed up in bullet points that link to the original article, and with the Library Project finished, it will house each guide so new players don't have to go far to find out how to play and any new ones as and when they're released. The Ministry of Home Affairs will be given free reign with these tools, so they can keep it up to date and running, and hopefully stock them with different games, including IRC games like Woldy's weekly trivia quizzes, raffles, current cabinet and MPs and different themed weeks that would be reflected in the site. The other thing it may be used for (subject to the security of it) is a place to house the House of Commons. A place to vote being the obvious use, and places to sign in to the HoC and view the different laws being the maybe not so obvious use. What ever works, there'll always be room to expand and develop as we start really learning how to use the site and what we can do with it. Something I will be carrying on is the release of articles from the eUK Home Office every 48 hours maximum with different types of article. This month we have had The UK Today, which is released every 3 days, and the Library Project where we've been publishing them as and when we can. These will of course be supplemented by daily announcements on the forums from myself.

PTOing is something that regularly comes up, though the last Congress elections went pretty untouched by foreign people trying to gain congress places in the country. All we need is to take what we learnt and what we did the last couple of months and apply them to the following congress election, so that we are again under no threat. Lastly is on the Congress side of things, and I assume some will find this ironic; I will push for change to the current Advisory system. At the moment they accomplish next to nothing, and I feel they can be put to use else where and they don't need an orange name to do that. I will do this by making them more streamlined; only having one advisor for every area we need it (for instance Ecksohh for military things), and will give them more responsibility to do things within the House of Commons. The Citizenship Committee is working well, and will be kept being run by two people from different parties.

Economics

I don't give a frerk about an economic policy. There is none. There's only protectionism, and that's what I'll continue to abide by. No-one can argue with this or do anything different. Anyone blowing smoke up your frerk about anything otherwise is pulling your chain.

Protectionism and a constant strive for opportunities is all that is available to be done. There can be no major shake up without drastic consequences. This is why everyone has always ignored economics in their manifesto's; that or they have gone over it in such a manner as to seem like they care. I won't insult you by pretending to be smart; or pretending that it is some complex machine that only a few understand. It's simple and it's simply managed. The only events that screw up the equilibrium is admin intervention, which no CP can go again.
I will be striving to keep the peg stable, as all CP's intend. I will be engaging in discussions with friendly countries to rent regions, as all CP's intend. I will be continuing to push land grants, as all CP's will intend to do from now on.
Economics, from the eyes of government, is the allow the stable trade of goods. Trade in eRepublic means influence increase in the long term. The more stable we are, the more we are able to adapt to any hickups the admins throw our way.
This is what I can offer. It's what all CP's offer. I, however, offer it without pretense of pretending to be god on earth. I offer it knowing that you understand the role of Government. I offer it as it is; not as what the hype pretends it to be.

As this is the Domestic manifesto I've opened applications!

This month I'll be looking for people for the following positions:

Minister of Defence
Minister of Finance
Minister of Home Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Minister of Legistive Affairs
Minister of Recruitment
Minister of Work

A new addition to the team will be the Department of Design & Technology who will consist of a few people that will help with the graphical needs of the various ministries and also the technological needs of the government. There'll be no minister in it, just a few helpful people that have volunteered their service. These will not be under the jurisdiction of the Home Affairs team.

To apply, just send a PM to me on forums here with what position you want, your experience and what you'd do if you got the role.

Feel free to PM me or find me on IRC is you have any questions!

Thank you for reading 😁
