America has the largest population in the game. So can anyone tell me why we're not the strongest? I know, and I'm going to tell you in this simple statement:
HALF OUR POPULATION IS HIPPIES
The term "hippies" is a rude way to say that someone is all about peace and love and friends. That's all good and fine in the real world. But this is a game. I will now argue against hippies, while also acknowledging their argument and disclaming it.
This is a game, and nonetheless a war game. Sure it's a "social strategy" game. But we know the thing most people like about it is the war. And hippies are trying to discourage war. Therefore they are trying to discourage the people of this game's rights. If they want peace, they should play a different game. But this game is essentially about political debates and war. Lot's of taking sides and fighting. And that's why we play it, it's fun.
But hippies would argue that this IS a game. But with real people and feelings. So they say we should all let the hatred die, and love eachother and prance around in a meadow.
My response is: THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS GAME IS ABOUT. This game is about war, hippies better live with it or play something else.

It's actually that half the population is inactive. Then about a quarter of the remaining half are hippies.
Yeah, you're wrong man. I've seen estimates as high as 60% of our population is inactive.
Also, since apparently I'm a "hippie" now, let me defend myself. The beauty of eRepublik is that you can play it any way you want to. I choose to believe that peace is an option. I play towards that goal, using war games as a viable alternative to real war. I enjoy the political debate aspect of the game more than the war, so I play this as a political simulator rather than a war game. That's what the game is about to me.
Let us "hippies" play the game as we wish, and we'll let you play it your way.
There is a place for hippies and war hawks. But war games must be active.

Bill, I would absolutely LOVE to let you hippies play it your way. And I do, if the hippies are like you, inactive in war hippies. But some of the hippies make it a personal goal to get in congress and stop war so other people who like it can't enjoy it. So, I've got nothing against you Bill, just other hippies active in stopping war.
