[APP] October/November Congress Elections
Paul J Keating
Congress elections will be held in about a week, and with a full complement of original regions there are many opportunities for citizens young and old to participate in the governance of this great country.
APP has a proud tradition of supporting good governance and legislative reform and we intend to build on this in the upcoming congress. APP has a very active voting membership, achieving the second highest vote count during the recent party president elections despite being far lower in numbers than the the top 2 parties. We also had the second highest proportion of votes to membership of all top 5 parties despite being an older, established party and also despite the fact that there was only a single candidate running for president.
If these voting trends continue, and there is no reason to suspect otherwise, APP can look forward to making a substantial contribution in the next terms' senate.
So here's a challenge to APP members, young and old. Get involved in the party, and if you feel you have what it takes to make a difference to this country nominate yourself to run for congress. APP provide a supportive and collaborative environment for all congress members - you can make a difference and together we'll ensure the principles of good governance and accountability are followed.
Nominate in-game and on our private forum (PM myself or Party President venja if you are not a forum user). Here's looking forward to a great outcome in the congress elections.

There's never been a better time to get involved, help make a difference!
The only thing the APP has ever been good at is putting up bad candidates for CP and acting like the US House of Representatives to block their elected governments from governing.

APP for freedom and a stronger democracy
Nice sounding words but have you got any history to support that? What progressive measures in such a stead have the APP successfully carried in government or law that qualifies the making of such a statement?
You folks don't need an opposition it's like Julia Gillard, Wayne Swan, Alex Downer and John Howard all in the one party.
I think you're missing a very important name in there mr cranky pants
Please I would be thrilled to see this invisible point. You have a campaign to run. Your campaign is against the government. So logically the onus is on the campaigner to lay out an actual plan and prove how it is better.
Not an unfair ask mate.
Weird perspective Mick - why do you think we're campaigning against the government? This is congress election, not presidential, and I'm in your cabinet and part of the government...
Your naivety is out of touch. Have you not been following your leader's statements against the government? He has opposed our security plan, opposed Operation Aurora Australis to win back our regions from Indonesia and never missed an opportunity to berate the Prime Minister and Treasurer's economic management.
APP president Venja's statements have also been supported by others members of your party.
Are you saying they do not reflect the official position of the APP?
coming from a serial party hopper such as yourself I am surprised that you would be so critical of a party which has an active experienced membership. I am not aware specifically about Venja's stance on these issues, but having worked significantly with him in the past, I think it is unlikely that he is doing it just for the sake of it. He is one of the more level headed and logical members of our community, and as such he does reflect the APP view on governance, and I am now curious as to the reasons he has to put up such opposition to these plans. And frankly, any treasurer is not going to meet his standards, as he is the best treasurer Australia has had, so that is just to be expected.
Sometimes I wonder what it is that motivates Mick to dribble like this. To be sure I crticised him for not delivering his budget on time. I am surely guilty of pointing out his shortcomings.
In terms of the MU supply policy I hav enever disagreed with policy - what I have criticised is the lack of response to the Aussie Diggers. Why has their application been ignored. Styill waiting for an answer
Voted.
Not withstanding the put downs by our own CP, who isn't too busy to take time out of his admittedly very busy schedule to ridicule anyone not touting his own agenda, the APP is a good and active Party.
Long live APP.
Voted. Go team APP! 🙂
Its funny how the CP is more than happy to abuse people who ask questions but never actually gets around to actually answering them.
Given Australian Pride Party has been PTO'd by band of multi's I think we're all in for an interesting senate election
Where are our multi hunters ?
Voted, good luck on the 25th
