[AMP]RevAMPing the Party

Day 1,874, 11:22 Published in USA Canada by Haliman

Some music for you.

To my fellow AMPers, my fellow citizens, and my friends,

I come before you today as a member of the party I founded in what seems like a different era. Preamble is no specialty of mine, so I will capitalize on brevity. As many of you well know I am far from a newcomer to this game, and nor am I to the political scene. However I am not here to impart on you a dissertation upon my accomplishments as they are irrelevant to my character. I am not one of the infamous individuals whose primary epithet is that of an elitist. I am no more than the sum of my values, as no one is above the consignment of ones constituents.

It has been a long time since I made an address to the party. A very long time, however this time has not been spent idly. Not only has the eUnited States undergone it’s fair share of change, and I address you at somewhat a dark time.

We are facing major adversity. Our membership is in decline, and our party is changing. While change is not necesarily a bad thing, we must remember the platform this party has had since its founding:

We were the party of the people, and we will always fight to be the party of the people. While our leadership has changed, and while our image has changed, one thing must remain constant; one thing cannot change. Our platform, our beliefs, these are the fundamental values that define us.

In order to remain a party of the people, we must continue to govern with the consent of the governed, and we accomplish that by meeting two criterion: represent them to the best of our ability, and keep them informed about everything that is happening.

To that effect, I hereby announce that I am running for Party President, and I promise you all that I will use every ounce of strength I have to fight for you, and that I will maintain communication on a level not seen in a long time. I think one of the main jobs of party president is to keep the party informed with everything that is happening, so near-constant communication is important. A year and a half ago when I first founded the AMP, I served three terms as party president. In those three terms, I averaged a PP address every 2 days.

Things were different back then. The nation was a far different place. And party leadership has done a good job of evolving to address the situation, but in my opinion, something has been lacking: excitement.

Most party members weren’t around for when I was party president, but I remember those days fondly. The greatest time I ever had in my elife was founding and leading the American Military Party. I remember how excited everyone was to be a part of something new, something that would surely change the nation. I remember my Chief of Staff Sir Valaro Volcrum and I would always see who can get people more excited with our media blitz’s. I remember Kria Erikson, my PAC director, abhorred politics before the AMP, and she ended up dominating around election time, and even went on to succeed me. I remember AMP articles getting dozens and dozens of ✯ ✯ ✯ Feel the AMPs ✯ ✯ ✯ comments within minutes of publishing.

Most importantly, I remember how excited everyone was to be a part of the Peoples’ Party. That is what gave me my energy. After my three terms, I was still completely energized. But I stepped aside. I felt the party was going down the right direction, so I declined to run again.

I’ve still got some gas in the tank. The party needs some excitement again, and I promise to work my butt off to make sure we get back on track and start growing again. And I think the team I will have will help me make this happen.

PP: Haliman
CoS: BeachBunny
Comms: Crimsonninja
Retention: MrSwagg
Legal: Jason Statham Jr.
Recruitment: Black Baronness
Security: Blondeninja
PAC: Soliden

A lot of these names are familiar, but do not fear. I have always been a strong supporter of new blood. Tomorrow, I’ll publish structural reforms I wish to implement that will make it easier for anyone who wants to help the party out to do so.

I just want to close by saying I love this party. My proudest moment in this game was when we made it to the Top 5. You have my word that, if I win, I will work my butt off, just like the first time to make sure that we always succeed. Our greatest days are still ahead of us, and with your permission, I’d like to be a part of that future.
