.5 : The Things You Cannot Change

Day 1,995, 19:50 Published in USA USA by Ludonarr

Greetings eLadies and eGentlemen,

I'm going to try something new tonight, a bit less story, a bit less sappy reflective, a bit more commentary and links to stuff. Huzzah for trying new things!

This fruit clearly evolved not to be eaten

Speaking of new things, I changed up my avatar. Gone is angsty vidja game soldier Captain Walker, in is some good looking caucasian guy from TV. Will the new face lead to new outlooks and adventure? Probably yes, hope you don't mind.

Message me Maybe?

My fingers have been flying this week, copying and pasting from one spreadsheet to another, opening tab after tab and other repetitive tasks. Yes, I, Ludonarr, have taken on some in-game messaging jobs. I volunteered to help out with the USWP contacting new members. Then I mentioned to Othere I was interested in working with Interior, before I knew it I had access to a spreadsheet and was going to town...well, not really, I've done 60 messages in 2 days....but i'm new at this...and I work all day.

Didn't discover the greasemonkey fast messenger script thing until today though, that is a definite time saver. If you do a lot of messaging, make sure to check it out.

My warrior face

It's official

I graduated from Flight Training and moved on to the Air Force. So far so good, I've talked to some cool people and the supplies definitely help. Also won my first few (4) Battle Hero medals. Used part of my tax return on a "combat stash" (the way Obama would want it) and wreaked havoc on a few different battlefields. Foolhardy? Probably, but fun? Definitely yes.

Which lets me segue nicely into the last little bit of my article, where the newb talks about the big news of the day as if he knows something.

I think best while bathing

There has been some noise over the past few days as a new group known as US-AIM made its presence felt, winning some resistance battles around the globe and (potentially) putting some kinks in the foreign affairs of the eUnited States. It seems to me that we have many folks supporting them, saying it is just fun and they have no responsibility to answer to anyone since they are self-funding. On the other hand, we have some within the government and formerly of the government saying that it jeopardizes eUS interests abroad and could be considered the action of rogue factions within our borders.

Could these be fighting words? Might US-AIM develop into a political force? Will Artela make a sex tape? These are all questions that remain unanswered for now.

I for one think that the game could use some shaking up. I see a lot of talk of retention and the average citizen, well here it is. I have been here a bit over a week, I have zero influence of any kind, and I think a change could be good. A move away from the status quo could be fun and honestly, what is the worst that could happen? The eUS gets invaded? The AFA takes over? People disagree and do more than just whine at each other via comments? That all sounds like fertilizer for a pretty good time if you ask me.

Sadly, I don't think it will happen, hence the title of this article.

*sad trombone*

Til next time eAmerica,
