So I was spamming the world media to get Subs for Bhanes article today.

Is it lame for a CP to go round begging for subs? Well I certainly think so! But I don't see anyone else doin it, and 100k is 100k! So if you haven't Subbed his paper, or your friends haven't subbed his paper, or your mum hasn't created an erep account she can use to sub Bhane's... then you've got some work to do!

But anyway, this article isn't about that article. It's about something I noticed while working on that article.

Just as election turnouts are a means of measuring population activity, the media is a means of measuring population enthusiasm.

Now the recentish (can I get away with that non-word?) changes to the media module have certainly damaged the media-enthusiasm-barometre. However if you are measuring enthusiasm proportionately it doesn't matter so much.

While paging through the world media looking for victims places to put my 'BhaneMMMspam' I found 9 countries didn't have even a single article posted in the last 48hrs.. their entire media module was blank! There's only 69countries in the game (atm), so 13% of the nations had no media-enthusiasm this morning. Several others had a really poor showing.
This phenomenon hits small countries more than large countries ofc, but we're a small country. So though our media module only has a few articles up atm, and does have a few blank categories, our media shows a comparative growth in enthusiasm (basically everyone else's $hitness makes us seem better).

We do have some blank categories:

'1st Steps': this category is blank in most countries

'Battle Orders': Our military administration has recently changed, give him a chance!

'Financial': Since Starkad moved to China there is like 5 econ players left in Ireland. Bhane has been writing in other categories for a change. Art is probably trying to find words derogatory enough to describe the world econ atm, and I'm the other 3 lol!

So eIreland rejoice, going into the weekend (traditionally slow period of week for media) we show relative strength in enthusiasm! \o/

There has been some complaints about my lack of updates. That's fully understandable, it's been by necessity a pretty cloak&dagger term so far.
I can't promise to keep everyone in the loop as regards what is going on. However that's no reason I can't start informing ppl as to what has been going on.
So starting tomorrow I will begin releasing slightly retrospective updates about what your government has been doin behind closed doors, in dark alleyways, etc etc so far this month.
