A Possible Weapon Bonus

We could swap Baja for Texas, giving both the USA and Mexico four weapon bonuses. It looks great on paper. . .

1) Can we trust Mexico?
Mexico has MMPs with Serbia, Poland and Spain. Mexicans are fighting for Poland against Russia. Mexico could drop those TWO MMPs, or since TWO is busy with Russia, maybe TWO would be distracted enough not to cause a problem.

2) Can we trust the USA population?
“OMG, give up Texas? Never!” could be the majority public reaction or the advantages of one more weapon bonus might be very popular.

3) Can the mechanics of such a swap be executed?
Congress has a bloc of members inimical to the USA, but Congress has a pro-USA plurality.
If the execution of the swap goes awry can discipline and focus be maintained in the population by government leaders so as to retrieve the situation and complete the plan? This last is a puzzlement.

4) Would the extra bonus increase the attraction of becoming a USA citizen to PTOers?
IMO, the enthusiasm for a PTO of the USA has waned over the past months. Some still immigrate illegally, but not to PTO so much as just to want to be USA cits and being unable to pass or ignorant of IES procedure. The PTO threat is still very real, but it’s impetus and strength have crested.

I don't think Congress has changed it's position on limiting bonuses. Before all this shit we always had 100/100. Of course Mexico wasn't happy because we kept them pretty much wiped to do it. We also paid France for a region.

I do think Mexico is warming up to us though. It is just hard for them to give up old alliances kind of like people here find it hard to give up EDEN.
