[Fed] Get out and vote! And other news...[day 2288]

Day 2,288, 13:54 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

Greetings Feds and Friends! It is Trekker Tlumac and the Fed Media department bringing you what everyone craves the most! More Fed action. :3

Welcome to this special Election Edition of Fed Media.

Well as we all know (or should know, I guess it is possible that some people still live under rocks and what not) Congressional Elections are tomorrow. We, at Fed Media, would like to bring you some news about the elections, the Fed Party in general, and encourage everyone to get out there and vote! (Preferably to Vote Fed)

The order of the congressional delegation has been set by our fearless ninja leader. All that really remains if for you guys (everyone with eUSA citizenship) to get out and vote for the Fed party tomorrow. We have an all-star class of Feds we want to send to congress, you can help us with that. If you would like to read up on the group we are planning to send please see Blondeninja's article about Feds in Congress

Here at the Fed Party, we are always trying to find ways to engage more people. It is one of our missions to have the best party in the eWorld. And we try to make that happen.

As of late party leadership has been discussing the expansion and direction of the party. Every party does this (or at least should be doing this). Avoiding the stagnation, that can come to any party, is crucial to continued success. So topics of discussion have centered along that. Also, congressional elections are coming next Tuesday and Fed leadership wants to grab as many votes as possible.
Of course the best idea is to do both things in one fell swoop. But the question of how remained.

A Fed visionary, eliwood_sain, approached me with a great idea:  We promote a political writing contest!

So here is the dealio. We want all Feds to write articles in their own newspapers about getting out and voting Fed. There will be prizes for the best articles. The contest runs from now until game reset Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning.

In order to qualify for prizes, you must include a link to the forum, a link to my (Trekker's) newspaper, and a link to the Blondeninja’s congressional delegation announcement. And you must post the link in the forum thread for the contest. For a list of prizes and other details please see the in forum announcement. Happy writing.

And now for some Fed news. Here are some updates from the Fed Media Staff:

This congressional cycle recently saw one of the most heated and closely contested votes in over half a year. This vote was ironically, on a subject that would have a somewhat small impact on us. This was the Canadian Trade Embargo, which passed by a vote of 17 yes, 12 no, and 7 abstain. The Discussion, Proposal, and Voting threads can be found here.

Discussion
Proposal
Vote

It was intended to keep Canadian citizens from capitalizing on our economic prosperity which would help their war effort. However, objections were raised about a lack of supporting data and potential harm to US citizens selling in Canada. Despite this, the vote passed with results that can be seen in the following table.

Note, the names seen in the boxes are the names of the people who fit into that category, and the numbers are the number of people in that category.
( )
As you can see, this vote not only split congress, but split party lines. Not one party voted unanimously, and only one voted unanimously excluding abstains. Given this, the vote did not significantly sway the public in favor of any one party for the congress elections.

Lastly, the vote was as split in game as it was in congress with a whopping 20 congress members voting no on the measure after it was passed on the forums. Even more than the forum vote. It should also be noted that the Yes column received more votes in game than on the forums, indicating that many congressmen did not vote on the forums and instead only voted in game. Given these new totals, the measure still passed in game by a vote of 24 to 20 and mutual embargoes now exist between Canada and the USA.

THE FBI: Investigating the People for the People

I was asked to write about the good olde FBI, I checked with MikePenny and he must be busy doing what he and his band of G-Men do protecting us from terrorist and other unwanted rif raff. I was in the FBI when I was last in the playing. The FBI may sound like the NSA wire taping your computer to find out your inner most secrets that is not the case we do not want to know what color underwear you are wearing. I am not allowed to inform you of the information that is looked at when an FBI check is conducted but I can assure you underwear color is not part of the test.
The need for a FBI is important because it keeps possible multi’s and PTO’ers out of our beloved FED. In the event that you have questions feel free to contact MikePenny as he is the current FBI Director. He can be reached on the forum as well.

A final big event will take place in a couple of days, elections for country presidency are around the corner and all eRepublik can feel that. Every party tries to put their candidat in a brighter light than the others, it will be a “bloody” battle.

We, the Feds send in battle a true hero, our beloved and honorable Tyler Bubblar. Tyler represents the true American, humble, a great patriot, a true battle hero who won’t say no to a fight that would bring to our nation more pride, and more power, that we all want to achieve.

As for what he accomplished so far, I’m telling you that he has all it takes to be the next President of eUSA, he joined our party in April 2013, he started from low ranks and become the man he is today, he was our party president 3 times, he served 6 terms in Congress, he also served 5 times as the Fed Whip, he occupied the position of XO at S.H.I.E.L.D. and he’s currently Scretary of State and Chief of Staff. What do you want more?

Tyler it’s also very aware of our nation’s needs and issues, and he is willing to fight for a better eUSA, such as our need for new citizens, or the situation of players that start playing eRep than after a short period they get bored and no longer play, I think Tyler it’s capable enough to solve problems like this and others issues that we have.

More details about http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1692381 candidacy you can find here, also a very clear and confident interview made by our Media staff member WookyJack you can read here(link to the interview).

More important than the campaign, the news that shout all around the world about the elections, the excessive impact that media has, is the fact the we are a free, independent and a powerful nation, and every citizen has the right to vote the person they like and want to be lead by, so go ahead Americans, vote for the one person that will sustain and improve our nation’s statute!
