Vote Ullok in Northern Ireland

Day 1,403, 05:39 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ullok

I realise Ullok probably isn’t a name you’ll know as it’s all the way at the bottom of the list on #euk, but I’m an elder member of the eUK community and a UKSF soldier who has decided to throw his hat in the ring for the upcoming congressional elections.

Now, compared to the other more, recognisable, candidates, my profile may look a bit bare: just 18 Hard Worker,14 Super Soldier and a RW medal. Don’t let that put you off: it’s 18 out of 23, and before I went on holiday, just before the last set of congressional elections, I hadn’t missed a day in six months and have been here every day since.

That means I will be here, and able to work for you.

Most people like to play it safe and vote for experience over ability, but that doesn’t mean, as in the past someone should be dismissed as a contender just because of their lack of experience.

Experience has its benefits, but a new face can bring new ideas and a new perspective on issues, all without the baggage of previous terms which we currently see in some public discussions.

A balance needs to be struck between the best, experienced, ministers and the most promising new-faces in order that we don’t stagnate as a nation.

Experience

Luckily I have a bit of both.

Up until now I have spent my time here working from the shadows for the glory of others, such as my time as MoHA apprentice for both Betafoxtrot and Talon Karrde and before the confusion of V2, I also quickly rose through the ranks of the (Navy Clicks) eRoyal Navy reaching Commodore (Administration Command), 68 Days after enlisting, showing just how hard I work when I put my mind to something.

Whilst I felt of use in these positions I worked tirelessly to fulfil my duties as best I could, and will do the same if elected to Parliament.

To benefit the eUK

We have a good political process in the eUK, if a little (over) combative at times.

Change is brought about through legislation, discussion, amendments and votes. This means that disparate, but equally valid, ideologies and goals have to be accommodated. My previous roles and my current position in the UKSF means that I am used to respectfully dealing with people from across the political spectrum.

I won’t shoot down a proposal just because it comes from someone across the left/right divide or blindly back my own party. Instead I will actively attempt to make sure intelligent discussion actually happens and support an idea that, given the information, would benefit the eUK. No matter where it comes from.

I will also not act in such a way as to bring the eUK, its people or community into disrepute. Either through action or inaction.

There is no benefit in dismissing something out of hand just because it was put forward by someone with a different political standpoint, withholding citizenship from someone who would genuinely benefit the country or vengefully letting in known adversaries of the eUK.

To benefit you

I believe in equality (a reason I chose to join ESO), that everyone, no matter how experienced, rich, popular, connected or (and this last one is more difficult) likeable, deserves a voice and to be heard on a level playing field.

If you have game related problems, concerns or simply ideas I am willing to listen to them, ESO member or not, constituent or not (if your congressman doesn’t listen). I would rather you come to me than ragequit.

I will then endeavour to give you a fair hearing and act as I see fit.

I want to make the eUK better, not just for its elites, not just for the members of my Party, or the Armed Forces, but for all its citizens. After all, a nation’s strength lies in its people. Every single one of them.

Though we may not be the largest of nations, whilst the baby-boomer populations of the world ebb and flow, ours develop and grow. I want to help this, especially in these uncertain times where even London can fall and the monetary market seems bent on mirroring the RL financial crisis, by pressing for expansion of the government schemes already in place to help people on the way to self sufficiency so you can do your best to defend your nation from whatever threatens it in the future.

The ESO Contract

In addition to the things I have said in my Manifesto above, I am an official ESO Congress Candidate. This affirms that I have agreed to upholding the following ideas should I be so richly rewarded as to be elected by you. Here is the ESO Contract with the UK.

*I believe you should be showered in food and weapons, with no strings attached, and I will work towards increasing donations in the UK that offer all our citizens incentives, not just members of a particular party.
*My time in Congress will not be spent trash-talking other parties, but will be spent doing my best to empower you, the UK citizen. This means increasing your wealth and self sufficiency, but also your ability to know what is going on, and I will keep you informed of what I’m voting in.
*If you bring ideas of what you want to me, I will listen, and if my own judgement agrees with your idea then I will make sure that it is heard. I joined a party that believes in individual development, and that includes people who aren't even in my party.

As well as committing myself to these policies, I am also committing myself to upholding these principles.

* That I will not bring disgrace to either the other individuals of ESO, or the eUK community
* That I will bring the best that I have to give to every discussion I take part in
* That I will never harm the security of the UK by ignoring its rules on citizenship
* That I will follow the rules of the forums and community, and if I disagree with any of them I will offer constructive feedback and not troll
* That my focus is on making the UK better for every single one of its citizens, not on making my own party seem more important

This is a contract that we have created as individuals, and have chosen to espouse as individuals.

Signed
Ullok

In closing

Every vote counts, every citizen counts and a vote for ESO will see that YOU count! But I urge everyone to make an informed vote. Vote for whomever you think would make the best representative, no matter who you vote for, or what party they’re in.

If you feel that’s me then please: vote for Ullok in Northern Ireland on the 25th.

Thank you.
