Political Hotspot
JQXZ
Welcome to the forty-first edition of Political Hotspot.
Over the past few days, citizens of the eUK have been invited to submit ideas for how the political system could be changed, with the intention of informing a new constitution to be put to the people in a referendum. Various citizens have submitted a wide range of ideas, which are summarised in a debate article. Citizens are encouraged to take part in this debate, which is on an article here. That article also provides details of an IRC debate that will take place this evening. I would encourage all readers who are interested in the eUK's political future to take part, either on IRC or in the comments on that article.
Rathena Gelc has won the Country President election, fighting off a close challenge from Rob the Bruce. It is concerning that a candidate such as Rob the Bruce, who has suggested replacing the government with a Dictator chosen specifically to be 'less serious/competent', and let them run the country on their own, has managed to secure enough votes to reach a close second place. While such a plan might appeal to a few people, it is likely that it would do irreparable damage to the country, with the more serious political people perhaps even going abroad or leaving the game.
God save King Woldy!
Political Hotspot is normally published on the 7th, 17th & 27th of each month.

My idea of dissolving all government and allowing a chaotic dictatorship is entirely irrelevant to my CP platform. I couldn't enact that plan as CP, the systems we currently have in place prevents any CP candidate from doing such things. I made that plan up and then have left it for other people to decide if they want it or not.
My CP run was just to make the best of the current system as I didn't believe any of the other candidates were gonna be any good. I don't see how you can use my dictatorship idea as a reason for me not becoming CP when they're totally unrelated to each other.
While I would not argue with the fact that you would not be able to implement that plan as CP, given that you released your idea of dissolving all government and allowing a chaotic dictatorship fairly close to the CP elections I would expect it to have had an effect on peoples perceptions of you when voting.
That is why I consider it concerning that your CP run did so well, because it suggests that there are many people who actually support, or are not opposed to, your plan.
Nah two seperate issues. I voted for Rob because of the quality of his cabinet, I disagree with his dictatorship idea
Addaway gets it
