Irony, and Ireland declare war

I'm glad I recently spent a over a week fighting to free Brazil from Poland. Ironically, I and many others fought for Brazil rather than helping our own country RW N Ireland so we could attack the Irish.
We are now definitely going to war with Ireland - they've got 15 yes votes out of 20 congressmen. I thought we might have tricked them into cancelling their mutual MPPs with us, by proposing and narrowly voting down our own proposal, but it seems that they are re-signing MPPs with the US, and now signing a new one with Brazil just to be sure. The timings of this mean that it is not definite which MPPs will be lost by whom and when.
This is definitely going to pass, the inferior Irish congress has but 20 members so 15 can pass an NE. They have less thanks to our friends from the Bremen Clubhouse making Ireland half-wipe itself to block them from taking part in congress
If our NE fails, Ireland attack first and lose their US MPP. If they win, the new MPPs will be signed and then lost in the second auto-battle. If not, we lose Brazil and the US from our MPP list when we attack.
If our NE fails, we attack first and lose our US MPP. If we then win, we attack again and lose our Brazil MPP. If we lose, they counter and lose their Brazilian MPP.
Either way, Brazil have shown us what they think of our old alliance, and that they value new members of EDEN over old members of Terra and Phoenix. The MPPs aren't going to help us even if we do keep them anyway. The only thing is if they lose them they do less damage. Looks like we are being pushed towards ONE despite our best intentions - we were fighting for Brazil only recently in S Africa, whilst Ireland have an MPP with Poland, who we recently fought to stop them from wiping Brazil.

On the plus side, Ireland are not exactly the hardest country to beat 1v1 in resistance wars, and hopefully their banks will have gone under before they can buy anymore gold. The game's economy module may also have crashed by then, based on this poorly explained thread here. France and germany may have left Terra as well, based on this . On the significant downside, we will be very open to attack from Canada and the "nobody's sad the UK aren't our allies anymore" USA due to the loss of the Brazilian and US MPPS. Also, Ireland can't have the regions they may take RWed immediately, so could potentially push their way to London without being able to be stopped with resistance wars.
Oh well, it'll be exciting to fight even if we do lose. We (probably) didn't even start this war, so with hindsight there is nothing we could do to stop Ireland - it's not like them being the aggressor is any different to them defending in this screwy war module anyway. Now we know Brazil's congress don't give a monkey's about our past loyalty and help, their MPP is useless.

I can't believe the UK actually helped the USA and Brazil and now they are going to betray us.
Especially since all the Balkan stuff is going on.

It must be good being a country with about 50 active citizen (5-10 of which they don't like) with big fwiends to back up your RL related inferiority complex on a game.

Ireland Ne'd United Kingdom only when they thought the U.K was declaring war on them. And when I was online yesterday, it looked like the U.K NE of Ireland was going to pass. So maybe that's what they thought too, idk.
I was a bit suprised when Brazil Mpp'd Ireland, but hey, you have been wanting war with Ireland for awhile now, so now you have it.

I'm a strong supporter of UK - Brazil alliance.
I'm against Ireland, so as i'm against Greece.
Our government is making bulshit or following eUSA's order or something like that.
Theres no reason for us to accept the MPP with Ireland other than if we were asked so...
And if we were asked and brazilian government is doing it, i guess we are puppets....
We never built ANY kind of relation with Ireland, we never helped them and they never helped us.
Brazil choosed Greece over than Turkey, and guess what, Greece dont give a s** about us, and we dont give a s** about them.
We just spent money signing MPP and with ireland, i guess it will be the same.
I, as a simple brazilian citizen, apologize in name of brazilian people who still have honor and memory, for what my government is doing with its old allies.
I know i can't change things, but im sure not many brazilians will fight against you, just the puppet ones.

Hopefully we'll lose to Ireland (we're trying as hard as we can to) and convince your government not to make another MPP proposal.
We don't hold all eBrazilians responsible, we know are still our friends, and we in the eUk also have experience of a government which refuses to answer to the will of the people.
Guys, just because you help someone doesn't mean you can expect unconditional support for idiocy.

I know you're not naive at all, but the UK's been very naive for months. All those things about 'old pals and good friends' are nothing but 'cool story bro' when it comes down to certain countries.
Croatia, Romania, Brasil and USA are for fighting against ONE. Exclusively. And more specifically against Serbia, Poland, Hungary and Spain. That's all there is, that's all there ever was.
You're in that bandwagon with them, everything's cool; you opt out of that bandwagon, then it's farewell, they'll look for new bandwagoners and you'll see them fighting against you at first chance.
Ask Indonesia, former Brasil's sweet bro.
Piece of advice; watch out France, they're the exactly the same kind.

@Maegalodonus: You make a solid point about naiveté, but there's a difference between a democracy and a dictatorship (bear with me - this is going somewhere). In an ideal world, from the point of view of heads of government/state, you're totally right - everyone practices realpolitik and acts exclusively in their own best interests. The morals and norms which apply to individual people don't apply to countries.
However, in small democracies - such as many of the smaller countries in eRepublik (inc. the UK) there's much more input from the citizens and so we expect our government to conform to our ethics - or at the very least not let us realise what they do.
So yes, whilst I think you're right in your explanation of the actions of the US, Brazil etc, don't put our reaction down to naiveté. It's better to protest the failings of others than simply ape them.
