[CP] Midterm Address

Day 2,618, 05:54 Published in Ireland South Korea by An Sluagh

Citizens of the Republic,

We are halfway through my term and I must admit that we have made progress as a nation and should keep the momentum going. I have near completed most of my manifesto already and over the next 15 days of this term will try to make the promises I had made.

Now to the progress on what I promised you.

[BabyBoom]

This was my priority but it is a sensitive issue. Finding a citizen who is trusted by the whole nation to mind our real life capital is a difficult task. Not only do we have to find somebody but we have to find somebody who wishes to bear the responsibility and give up their own valuable time. Three candidates rejected the offer of administrating the funds but eventually we have secured a volunteer - Ian Arbuckle.

Ian is a trusted and loyal member of the eIrish community and has been heavily involved in so many aspects of the game. He is my current Minister of Education and has served numerous administrative roles before, if there is one person I can trust with anything it is Ian. I have spoken with different members from all backgrounds of our community and so far I have not had one person who isn't satisfied with the selection of Ian.

Over the coming week an article will be released outlining how you can donate to the eIrish BabyBoom.

[Potential Airstrike]

I stated that I intended to possibly launch an airstrike in my manifesto. However following our failed landing on Brazil I would rather not launch another airstrike during this term.

Airstrike aborted.

[Immigration]

No grounds have been made on this aspect. However I have a new different approach which I will present to the Dáil over the next week. It will involve each applicant submitting their details for every Dáil member to view. The matter on granting the applicant citizenship is then up to a Dáil vote. This is the system that was in place when I was in eNorway and is administered on the forums where a poll can be held and votes easily counted.

We will get immigration sorted.

[Referendum Commission]

The Referendum Commission has begun and been at work. We are 90% complete on what we set out to do and over the next few days should have the legislation fully wrapped up. As soon as it is passed by the Dáil (should it be passed) a vote will take place over the Treaty of Mayo. This will be a perfect test for the new system.

This project is near complete.

[Irish Army]

I mentioned in my manifesto about rebooting the Irish Army and bringing in fresh leadership to awaken our State Army. I am happy to announce the new Commander of the Irish Army is Mr. Tayto! I wish him the best of luck in his new role and would like to thank Ian E Coleman for his service to the nation over the past year, it has been appreciated by all corners of our society.

You can read about the transition of power in this article.

Irish Army has been rebooted.

[ADDITIONAL WORK CARRIED OUT]

1) We have rebooted the forums at eireland.url.ph

If you have not registered yet please do so as this project can't be a success without your participation.

2) We have held two National Strikes so far this term and they have been quite successful and in eyes fun. Our first strike involved members from the Macedonian community whom we invited to join us and improve our relations with them.

If you haven't attended a National Strike yet I would recommend attending the next as they are good fun and good craic is had on #IrishArmy.

3) We have signed a few MPP's over the past two weeks. We have signed so far with:

United Kingdom
Spain
Turkey
Russia

I intend to possibly sign one more during this term. There has been a bug with the United Kingdom MPP making it effectively useless - I am still ticketing the admins trying to resolve the issue (we've been arguing for ten days). Only today have they accepted that there is a fault on their end and now I am trying to get them to fix it and give us the full 30 day MPP we signed and not the 20 days that are left.

Thank you for reading, I should also mention that I plan on running for re-election on the 5th of February. I seem to enjoy being President but I'd prefer to be a Dictator.

Éire Abú,
An Taoiseach
An Sluagh

I'd also like to commend my Minister for their hard work carried out this term. You can check out all of our articles below!
