In all of the eUSA only Virginia has big bonuses for farms and food factories (one place per country I guess). So your first holding company for farms and food factories must be in Richmond, Virginia. Your residence will probably be in Richmond too (no costs to commute to work-as-manager). You can change your residence later (your house(s) will follow). Alas your holding company can not move but you can create another holding company in a different state (costs 13,964.20 USD for the second one). To move your residence you must use the little city search window on the upper right of the residence page to travel to the new city.. Many thanks to Ospreyy for knowing that and telling me how to move my residence. BTW Kentucky is the one state with big bonuses for weapons production.



The cost mechanics in the production of raw materials and finished products are not straight forward. It costs 10 energy and about 20 USD (1% of first page mean cash job salaries) tax to work each building. It is cheaper to buy food raw materials than to work Q1, Q2 or Q3 farms. It costs gold for factories and factory quality upgrades. Factories of all qualities are as much as 10% cheaper in Companies for Sale under Market.

How much food do you need in a day? At a bare minimum 25 kills x 30 energy + 2 work x 10 energy + 2 training x 10 energy + only 1 farm or factory x 10 energy equals 800 energy or 40 Q1 food. The very active player of my imagination might go through an average of 4500 energy or 2250 Q1 food per day.

In my opinion (ah, the good part) you should build up a goodly production of food via cash/gold building purchases and upgrades before you quit your cash job(s) and join a MU commune. The MU commune pays better in food and weapons than your cash job but you are expected (nay, honor bound) to use up those items to fight as ordered. The food that you produce from your own factories can be used or sold for cash, invested or expended at your own discretion.
