End of CODE? - Interview with the SoFA of CODE alliance!!
Hillary Clinton1
Hello my fellow readers, i bring you an interview today with official Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SoFA) of CODE alliance - JOy13x.
JOy13x is and experienced ePlayer who have been CP for 4 terms and also as i said before he is the SoFA of CODE - the biggest alliance today in Erepublik.
He accepted for this interview and to answer about my questions, about the leaving of eTurkey, the lands that were lost, and of what seems to many as the end of CODE...
I really hope you will enjoy this
🙂
1. Hello to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the CODE alliance - JOy13x, thank you so much for agree to make this interview with me, but before we start would you agree to introduce yourself first for those who don't know you?
Thank you for the interview and interest.
I am a relatively new player, I returned to the game after approximately 10 years, and in this short period of time in the game I have had the opportunity, thanks to my party and MU (UMA), to be president, MoD, and MoFA. Later, I was invited by the Code HQ to be part of it, currently I serve as SoFA of CODE.
2. Can you please tell us about your role in the alliance as the SoFA?
Well, my tasks, at Code, is to build bridges between neutral countries and our alliance. Sometimes I have to talk with countries from other alliances, of course. It's really interesting and quite a challenge for me as a "new" player, let's say. Taking into account that there are players with more than 10/12 years in the game...
3. What the biggest thing you have done as the SoFA of CODE?
Naa, I don't think I have had any great particular events or milestones in this time... One always tries to be present and help in all areas... Today, it is more complex because we are in a very difficult moment, and being On the losing side, of course many doors close, but you begin to value true friends.
4. Did you succeed to Did you manage to lead any move or operation against the Asteria alliance?
I believe that no operation can be carried out by a single person. Maybe yes, a plan. But without the collaboration of other people (CPs, MoDs, MoFAs, etc.) it is impossible to pursue success, then achieving it is another story.
Personally, I had to carry out several very successful campaigns and others perhaps not so successful (for Argentina) but beneficial for the Alliance. Of course.
5. Can you tell us about the last few weeks of the war against CODE?
War against CODE? I think it cannot be called that, our enemies should not call it war either, simply because they are over several territories or almost all of them. Clearly, CODE is not playing. There are people who should be working on getting a fair game for everyone and instead, they are touching the prices of the packs... A shame. Instead of keeping the few remaining players, they insist that more players abandon this old game.
6. As the SoFA of CODE do you feel like you messed up or failed in your role? Is there a certain responsibility you take on?
No, the truth is that no... I understand that I could not have changed much of what happened... From my point of view, the imbalance is in the inaction of the moderators and administrators of the game, not in the players.
I am responsible for what happens with the member countries of our alliance and other neutral or enemy countries, that is my task.
7. What is the main factor that CODE lose so many lands in such a short time?
When there are no media and no one to judge who breaks the rules, what is currently happening happens... This is not a war, it is about erasing countries, without them being able to defend themselves, and the worst of all is that the player communities of those countries end up distancing themselves from the game, they end up killing the communities.
8. Some of the small countries in the alliance feel that CODE isnt care about them and the feel they are on the on the fringes of the alliance, what do you tell them? Is CODE collapse?
Well, that's your opinion, I respect it, but I don't share it. We have always been, are and will be attentive to all the needs of our members. Of course the needs are not the same, nor can the answers be. It is a game where community. Code will not collapse until its last member decides to leave. Some of us really consider ourselves friends, we have blind trust, that's what an alliance is about. Those who cannot handle that will surely look for another path.
9. Is there another alternative today to the alliance of CODE to deal with the occupation of the Asteria alliance?
Not at the moment, we will only continue working to free the members of our alliance.
10. What steps do you think should be taken to improve the situation of the countries in the CODE alliance and what will you do to promote them?
We must reorder and reorganize a part of our alliance, we know it and we are clear about it. But it is only feasible when people feel motivated and we have a common goal. And the truth is that the game, today, with its flaws and injustices, fails to captivate those who are leaving, much less bring in new people.
11. I have talked with the CP of eTurkey - Tuzgunn and asked him about why eTurkey left the alliance and about CODE and he said :
" We have been friends with the countries in our alliance for years. We fought together. We won victories. However, there has been no organization in the alliance for a long time. Everyone seems to have given up on the game.
There's no point in continuing any further. I don't know how long this will continue. Türkiye is not alone. We have many friends. There is no old excitement left in the game. If the game management doesn't make changes, I think the game will be over.
It's time for change in the world. This isn't just the CODE alliance's problem. "
- What is your answer for that?
I share your vision of the problem, it is precisely what I have been saying. I don't really know the CP, the first time we talked beyond greeting him at the beginning of his mandate, it was because of the CODE exit law.
As I told you... I consider his assessment to be correct, but I do not share the method of protest, let's say...
12. What's CODE plans for next month and the near future if you can tell us
Try to release our cores, meanwhile we stan by for a good response from Admins/Mods, about our inquiries..
13. If you could change or add ANYTHING to this game tell us 1 thing you were picked to change/add and why?
Hard to pick just 1 thing.. But.. I pick bring security about the abuse of multies, maybe.
14. Before we end, there is any last message to our readers, your friends, and the community that read this interview?
The friendships that are generated in this game, and transcend the RL, must be cared for.
Enjoy this silly and boring game, which keeps us talking with friends on the other side of the world.
And thank for all the readers please dont forget to comment, vote, share and if u like and want to show more support.

What Tuzgunn said....
I've being part of both Alliances organising it's people and running programs (of course with the help of others too), in order to make this game more interesting. I realised that Asteria, at least the last 2 years is more well organised than CODE Alliance. The game is based on the active presence of each citizen daily as well as the packages he decides to buy every month in order to have an impact on it. Once a part of this chain is broken, players' interest is lost, resulting in defeats in wars, especially when a player manages multiple accounts. The gap that has been created the last two years is too huge between this two Alliances and nothing is going to be happen to bring the balance. Maybe the only thing that can bring it, is an investor, like Herr Vootsman who bought, packaged many accounts. Not like Asteria was weak before, but with him the balance has been broken really fast and hard!
This is how it works, this is how both of Alliances did during the years, just the one side (CODE), decided ot stop investing their money!
I think these effects can snowball - when one side is active (and organized), then others join in (two clickers, neutrals, etc), and increase their activity, which then brings more people, creates more activity. Meanwhile if another side is inactive, they lose players, fewer people pack, etc, and it creates a feedback loop.
what are you talking about, what organisation xD it is easy to organise when you have 90% of asteria accounts on one place. and you think someone will buy packs to fight your bot countries.
shameless shit
@Za'Ha To be honest, Voots conquered the game, doesn't matter the way, he just did it! While Admins allow this situation it is okay. I also don't like when i hear "At least during Summer period, CODE was ahead and during all other months Asteria was leading". Wtf is this? There are people who giving 1-2k per month, of course they will fight till wipe the enemy, am i wrong? Both Alliances using multiple accounts and scripts, the strongest is the dominant!
@biter good for him, then he should enjoy his achievement and stop complaining that code don't fight, code don't have organisation etc etc
loot of countries have multies that is true, but this shit with buying accs literally on erep wall never happened.
we had i think 20 legxx and they bought 3 xD
Are you guys on drugs on sth ? Voots has also a real life and isn’t hanging around all day at erepublik. Claim down also no one forbid anything to Code to be organized and manage your stuff. Being honest the majority of Code nations are just dead, look at the news there most of the time empty, no ppl, no nothing. How you can think this survive ?
haha ofc he is not doing nothing except paying xD serbs are bot clickers
This scenario is possible when the whole community (or at least a high percentage) of a country is active, but in this case is not..
The other scenario is that every country needs a leader(s) (doesn’t matter how many they are, it can be 4-5 or even 1 who invest lot of money and managing 8-10 multiple accounts), to help its country and its people by packaging or buying them strong accounts to play and few others who hep this policy via different kind of programs and making groups to get organised in the battles, as a result to ‘hold’ the 2 clickers or none package people in the game and shown that the community is active.
You want an example? Well, USA before you was an indifferent country, without any strong citizen in overtime. Can you imagine what is going to be happen if you stop the game? I’m pretty sure the USA community is going to be fallen really fast.
With other worlds, I want to say that the community itself holds this game active or big investors who stay in this game for a long, long time..
Most people just want to find a meaning, that goes both here and in real life. If you tell a story they like and see they can have a part in they tend to follow.
Ukraine in Asteria and Russia in Code is a pretty strong story for most nowadays. Add to that that Herr Vootsman has become a symbol for Asteria while Code is struggling to find a common theme.
I agree with B I T E R that many countries lack leaders, I so many countries struggle to find an active president. eSweden is no exception.
Game is too old to find a meaning relating about real life issues. Maybe some of them motivating by this, like you said, with the war between Russia and Ukraine + Baltic countries (Lithuania is the only active country from the Baltics) but in the end, only a sponsor-investor can save the game. Someone who gonna invest a big amount of money will motivate the ‘normal’ people who just paying 25-40€ per month for the basic packs and since there is a lack of investors, many countries are forced to become neutral.
You want another example? Croatia was the only country in the last 2 years who had investors and controlled multiple accounts and when the investors decided to stop, all countries of CODE wiped..
Is a chain, if one link is broken, then the following deficiencies come as well, unless they are restored immediately.
Ukraine in Asteria and Russia in CODE wasn't all that one-sided and dictated by RL most of the time, you know. When CODE was competitive Russia had a clear upper hand, and it might still be able to, but there's no sense in spending the resources available when you face 7-8 opponents nearly alone.
I did take a 2 month vacation, and somehow still got credit for all our wins
@Voots: they draw always the picture of some mastermind who’s to blaming for, but at least you did some great work before you had your holidays
The Alliance is dead
The brain dead of the alliance is pronounced.
This could spark a domino effect.
CODE members must convene in an emergency session. Discuss things.
There's a real lack of coordination.
It is not too late yet, many things could be done.
But we must act quickly, and together!
Chile siempre dará la lucha no importe en el lugar donde esté ! Saludos .
Ka zetro dios de chile .
Sorry, but the argument of multi accounts is just silly on so many levels, every powerful country has been involved in account trade or sitting, and most of them(I would be that all) in some sort of account automation, since its not rocket science anymore. Just yesterday most of South Korean community was fighting all night on Thursday in quite meaningless RW, you really believe that all of them sat all night at their laptops to empty their food fights at the most optimal times. Every single country has tried some sort of cheese to gain advantage, it has always been true since the dawn of the New World, and it will remain that way until the servers close.
The biggest issues for any alliance during down time usually are motivation, organization, lack of inspiring, active leadership(not a personal attack, speaking in general) and most importantly.... money spent in the game. All of these things are closely correlated. No matter how much we all like to attribute our respective side victories to friendship, courage, and all of that fairytale stuff, in reality, its damage, packs, EBs and CO, then comes good planning and organization, bottom line being, that there needs to be the whale or whales that carries the world so to speak.
Wish you best of luck in efforts of reviving the alliance o7
Oh wow. Someone gets it.
sometimes, Europeans confused Korean time zone
obvious example of idiots intelligence
i always blame Korean's inactivity
but,, most of Korean fought all night? really?
im sure you must not bet your balls
Koreans face asterians bot damage during their time 2am ~ 5am
(ofc you, Latvia acc wake up at the night, europe timezone -
so, i believe some asterian live in UTC +9 zone XD )
when you write about multi, please refer first those fact 🙂
First and foremost, South Korea was used just as recent example. They live in time zone which is +6 hours from time zone where Baltics and most of the Balkan superpowers lives, so when I am referring to them fighting all night, I am referring to many of their players putting out damage(ff or with EBs) during the empty hours(3-5AM), since if you even make a single hit, that means you are present during that time. I am not talking about few tanks deciding to stay up a bit late to go for one round at 2AM.
If you want to talk about Latvia, then I can assure you that there are no automated players anymore(we used to have few guys with self made farming automation), and we have never had scripts which automates whole community to fight at once. I think anyone who has fought against us knows that its free points during our nighttime. We might stay up a bit late to try to take one round, or wake up early, but no community all-nighters.
And I don't blame SK for this, its the game in general. I would assume you could name numerous examples from Asteria side, and me or Asteria could name numerous examples from Code side. I don't fight against Asteria, and I don't follow their battles during the night, so I obviously lack the observation of the situation, but so does Code players with their alliance.
describe opposite side using fight bot, but we are not?
some Koreans live in USA( Eastern, and Texas) in RL,
so fighting in Korean night time isn't problem aren't you 🙂
(ofc you would not totally agree my justify XD )
and,, i could partially agree your assertion,
compare than serbia or fyrom acc damage Latvians acc's activity is normal
a few days ago, in the 4am in serbia time.......
some idiotic serbian tried to suppress Korea and making epic in D4, but poorly lose the battle
if you were Korean, im sure you must not respect those idiots
i agree your second passage 'The biggest issues for any al,,
i believe multi doesn't fundamental problem of alliance or game matter
He should have waited for Starcraft ASL Season 16 to start broadcasting to start an epic 😃
aunsx om i understand all that, but you are russian
Finally, someone got it: it's all about money, nothing else more.
o7 Joy!!!
Timely and interesting. Thanks, Prince!
Thank you for the interview!
o7
Was it actually worth your effort?
Can you please tell us about your role in the alliance as the SoFA?
Joy: Acting dead.
What the biggest thing you have done as the SoFA of CODE?
Joy: Being invisible.
Did you succeed and Did you manage to lead any move or operation against the Asteria alliance?
Joy: No
As the SoFA of CODE do you feel like you messed up or failed in your role? Is there a certain responsibility you take on?
Joy: Yes, I keep losing members, and also there are 0 neutrals being proCode.
Some of the small countries in the alliance feel that CODE isnt care about them and the feel they are on the on the fringes of the alliance, what do you tell them? Is CODE collapse?
Joy: I say nothing. I stay quiet and ignore their opinions. And when they act rebellious ,I blame them on their actions.
What steps do you think should be taken to improve the situation of the countries in the CODE alliance and what will you do to promote them?
Joy: I think we should let greece call traitors and rats everybody. It will solve all CODE problems for sure!
This interview clearly reflects current CODE's situation. Questions not answered, topics changed when we don't like the true answers. Also HQ non-existent.
Also vote+endorse for your effort Prince Simba.
Romperius MJ he is the best leader
That would be an awesome article to read 😅
> Being invisible.
That's what some neutrals will have to do every time their sponsor goes on vacation or Colin mode. So they better learn from poor Joy.
I agree with you. Let's tell these countries that.
How sad to read this, from someone considered by me as "friend." Beyond that, don't forget that I was the first to make myself and my country available to free your cores, without demanding anything in return. Second,in my postion I never took sides with any country or any member in particular. But hey.. Everyone knows what he did, does and will do.
o7
Thailand fought many times in Arg cores too. I never said Argentina is bad ally. On the contrary Argentina is good ally. My comment is about you as SOFA of the alliance and has nothing to do with Argentina. Once more, you are just turning words around in a way that suits you.
