[SUFFER] Who we are

Day 2,597, 10:27 Published in Canada Cuba by Pato Ar

Over the past few days, the Media in eCanada has shown more than one article speaking about SUFFER in negative terms; even to the point of saying we are a PTO party.

As Spokesman of SUFFER, I feel the responsibility of clarifying a few misconceptions I think could have arisen.

First of all, we are NOT a PTO Party, and to my knowledge NON of our members has the least bit of interest in a PTO. We certainly are not a threat to eCanada; au contraire, it is in our best interest to work for and with our fellow eCanadians in the advancement of our country.

SUFFER Party

With that said, a few explanatory words are due. What is SUFFER?

SUFFER stands for “Spreading Unconditional Fun For eRepublik”

But that’s not all there is to it. First of all, SUFFER did not originate as a political party. We are simply a group of eFriends that refuse to give-in to Plato’s biddings; we believe it is downright absurd to fall into the automatic clickety-click routine of work, train, fight. I don’t know what the definition of fun is to you; but in SUFFER we fail to see any novelty in mouse-clicking.

This is a game. But sometimes those playing the game seem to follow a prewritten textbook, following the “RULES” that admins and dinosaurs of old have shoved down their throats, behaving like well-trained circus animals. No deviance, no creativity, no strategy, just an extremely predictable set of activities.

In SUFFER we are not afraid to think outside the box. We believe there must be a game beyond the game. The game is not an ends in itself; it is a means to an en😛 having fun!

So, as part of that “means” provided by the game mechanics, we created a Political Party called SUFFER, simply to channel our activities and have fun! We chose eCanada because some of our members were from here and because we know this to be an open-minded friendly community.

Media and opinions

I’m aware that a couple of SUFFER members might have come out as strongly opinionated in the Media. I assure you their intentions were for the good. I know them well, and they are not here to criticize from the outside, nor to “throw the stone and hide the hand”; they are here to brainstorm and help in any way possible, which sometimes includes pointing out when they feel someone’s screwing up, and offering to help straighten things out. If you give them a chance to cooperate/collaborate together, I’m sure we all have lots to gain.

Besides, in the words of Dr. Hugh Jardon: "People have opinions, is that the voice of the party/group? Of course not because everyone in SUFFER has their own voice and that's what makes this group great".

So, don’t base your opinions about SUFFER on the words of one or two. I have personally felt warmly welcomed by eCanadians in general. But sadly there are always a few prejudiced people that can’t seem to see beyond their misconceptions. To them I say: don’t treat us as outsiders, PTOers or a threat; don’t try to shun us out of the community or to spread more prejudice. It will only make things worse. Hatred only breeds hate. Discrimination only brings division.

Government

Despite some criticism expressed in the media regarding our current CP, I personally have nothing against him or his cabinet. In fact, I think they did a pretty good job, considering the circumstances. Sure, there were a few glitches along the way; but hey, we all make mistakes, and this is a game FFS… So don’t crucify anyone. Let’s all learn from our mistakes and pitch in to pull forward in the same direction.

We will be endorsing Quentin Carlson for January’s elections. We believe him to be the man for the task, and there’s a great team behind him.

To all the candidates for January’s elections I say: all the best of luck, and whoever wins, you can count on all of us at SUFFER (except if you need gold, lol…)

Yours as brother-in-arms,

Pato Ar
