[CP] Big Update

Dear Friends, I hope I find you well. This article will attempt to update you and prepare you for the next stage in our nation's recovery. I trust that you will have seen multiple articles and shouts voicing dissatisfaction and jubilation in equal measure throughout the last few days. I will address these points later, because I first need to talk to all the players in the country whom I was elected to serve, rather than a minority who want to use my silence on matters of strategy to the public at large for their own personal gain.


To the people who kept the situation in proportion, I thank you first. You saw that the eUK was never in any real harm from being off the map, and that it suited us far better to come back with our allies in place to a position of strength, given the raw hand that we were dealt. It is of note that the Argentinian ambassador credited us with the following: “The UK fought well, and I'm not joking.” He went on to acknowledge our Ireland hopping plan was a success, that certainly delayed the wipe. This of course ensured Poland to get the all important border.


So, I was accused this week of “Not rallying our allies” which was an amusing statement, given that the Polish NE came in a little under 2 minutes later. This had obviously been on the cards all week, and it was sheer opportunism by those who never understand the need for secrecy in timings and accurate timekeeping to ensure that all battles run to plan. So I soaked up the pain, because that’s what a good CP does, taking people's momentary annoyance with a smile on one's face and beneath the surface rippling with rage that they doubt your resolve or ability. I was, however mightily pleased I received the first Presidential death threat that the eUK has seen for a while, so I must be doing something right.


On to our strategy. We have been starting early RW's across our eastern regions, while Poland barrel north through the westfold. They will be releasing the regions as and when deemed safe, because this administration has received credible intelligence that the US are a threat to our security, at a heightened level to previous months. However we shall not let this deter us from continuing our war with Ireland, who have made no serious attempt at peace since a bizarre deal that was put to our congress by their CP, MUFC. He wished to rent NI for 100g a month for 6 months, but failed to secure the support of his congress. I am open to a peace deal, but it will have to financially benefit the UK, so Irish congress think hard about what you can offer us, an accord, or your swords. I want to thank everyone who has helped out in supply, and all our friends and countrymen who have so far fought to free us.


Domestics: My next article will deal with planned changes to the official eUK forums - the offsite home of our community, and how you can get involved. This will be in the form of voting in the comments section on proposed ideas that hopefully will endear and engage more players to be active over there!


I hope to follow through on an election pledge by increasing the NHS daily supply. This is by using some extra cash the government recently stumbled upon in a lost org. We reset the account and found a great horde of XXXg (three figures but redacted) - I want to use this to up the amount at least until the end of term, and my successor can take a decision based on what I pass on in the treasury. I am looking for our reserves (the value of the assets the government has in liquid monetary form) to be anywhere from 1 to 1.5 million GBP depending on how carry out MM fishing, and the final cost of the war (it hasn't been too bad, but enough to make a dent.)
