[Congress] Taxes and recent laws

Hello everyone,

The UK seems a peaceful place now.. *Tumble weed*
But behind the scenes its anything but that. I feel now is a good time to give you a detailed update on the current events going on within congress. I promised to be more transparent when I ran for congress so here it goes.


Taxes
16 days ago I made a proposal to both the general public and congress.
After our dictator WayneKerr robbed us of £800,000cc.. we had no money. We had just regained a couple of regions from Germany and Canada to regain congress. MEK had wiped all our MPPs, and stole the remaining £130,000cc we did have. We had nothing.

I proposed a increase in Work Tax - 3% and VAT -3%

This was a direct effort to address our cash flow problems. We had no money for MPP's and luckily with the help of donations we managed to get a stack together and push France back. Since then we have agreed a peace deal with France.

Likely Future For Taxes: I am currently working as dMoF and my mission was to raise income without having to increase taxes any more as some people had wanted 5/4% Work Tax. This plan to invite allied MU suppliers is underway and I will come back to it later. But to see the effects we are keen to hold taxes for another week. Then I can see a drop in VAT to 1/2% being discussed.

This has become my baby really. My role this month is to increase taxes without increasing taxes any more.
My solution was to invite allied and trusted friends to come to the UK and take advantage of our excellent bonuses.

The scheme has been a success so far with 15 successful applications over the last 6 days.

Our allies benefit from creating more tanks and wrm for their armies and the UK gets a small tax income increase.

We have released articles with government premission from those countries. I want to thank Max Blue for helping me.
MPPs
We will be adding a couple of MPPs to our current stack.

Spain: This has passed and is currently going through the ingame vote. Spain have been wiped for some time, but have now regained some regions and are keen to start rebuilding.

Thailan😛 We are currently voting on Thailand being added. A small nation but they have some major tanks. Hopefully this will pass and we can welcome some new friends on the battlefield.

Cyprus and UAE: These two could be in the pipeline for the future.

Speaker Act
Its fair to say that congress is very busy this month, a lot busier then I had ever expected.

Because we are recovering from a wipe and other factors. A lot is happening as you would expect and hope for. However with so much happening at once communication can be strained and very chaotic.

The speaker Act has passed and we are now choosing someone to lead votes for the remainder of the month. Hopefully this will bring to organisation to future votes and debates.
Guardian Angels

This was an idea I came up with and it was basically storing UK Treasury money on very experienced and well trusted player accounts. A form of protection so that all our eggs are not in one basket for a dictator to steal.

I have seen a couple of people come up with their own versions since. Hopefully we can agree a deal and move forward with protecting our countries money in the future.
Honours system
It has been proposed to bring back an old idea. Some of you "older" players might be familiar with it. I think most of congress backed the idea.. it just requires a lot of work before we see it materialise.
