Surrender is the wrong word - Gnilraps response
J.Lucent
This article is in response to Gnilraps, referenced here.
"I strongly encourage you to write a newspaper article reacting to the surrender and peace treaty."
I waited a while to actually tackle this topic, mostly because I wanted to see the general reaction, as well as think it through. Naturally there has been a mishmash of feelings on the topic. That's understandable. I can imagine from the Presidents point of view that this was a somewhat difficult decision. You can't please everyone, but in the long run you have to do what you believe is the best for the nation and people within it. Honestly, I think he made the right call.
Put the rope down, and take off the lynchin boots. Let me explain.
I look at it like this. We payed a small fee, which granted is tax payer money, to more or less ensure that for the next three months we won't be fighting an uphill battle. A battle that we would more than likely lose. I'm not proud to admit that, but hey. Facts are facts. As it stands now we can rebuild. Gather up a war chest in case things go south, stockpile weapons/food and plan for the worst while hoping for the best. This is breathing room. Personally, I'd be happy if things worked out well and we can negotiate for the return of most, if not all of our east coast. I'm partial to New York myself. A little diplomacy and calm words can go a long way to changing the way the world views us, and perhaps change the way the entire thing is played. Maybe thats a pipe dream, but hell... what do we have to lose? Territory? Money? Citizens? Been there, done that.
A lot of people don't like the idea that we 'surrendered'. I don't really view it as that. Surrender to me is where we have no say in the terms. I imagine that if this were a true surrender, we wouldn't be gaining territories and have a 3 months pass to dust ourselves off. Surrender is the wrong word. Three nations came together and negotiated in good faith a cessation of hostilities. Think about it for a minute. They could have pushed the issue and left us wiped and just kept the pressure on us until a vast majority either died off, or fled. Instead everyone came together, shook hands, and said "Man, that was a good fight. Lets take a break, see if we can hash things out for a few months, and see what happens. GG."
As for me, I'm happy to go out and liberate regions and build my supplies up. I'll enjoy the peace for what it is and I encourage everyone else to do the same. We had a good fight. They know it, we know it. Be proud of that.
Lastly, I'd like to thank Gnilraps for encouraging discussion and asking for thoughts on the matter. High five sir.

I have supported this NAP because basically I have no other choice. However, for America it is a not good thing, before this capitulation America was seen as an ally who turned their backs on countries who had been our Brothers; now America will be seen as a country who when it starts to the going gets hard we will simply lay down and roll over. Especially the countries who have spent months wiped or who are currently wiped such as the Netherlands, once more America looks as if we care only about ourselves.
Stari Borac wrote an article entitled 'The start of a new era for eUSA', in which he has stated that if America doesn't do as TWO commands we will regret it, personally I all ready regret it. Just how long do you really think Serbia will sit back and let America build her Armies. One? Two? Maybe, but I doubt it, three months? So then what? They squish us like a bug?
Would have been much better to have gone down fighting.
You were already down and flailing like a drunken limbless child. The only thing you were really going to accomplish is to deplete the rest of the resources of the US and anyone else that was trying to help the US.
Still would have been better to go down fighting...
Never give up, never surrender...
