Join the new world

Firstly can i thank the people of the eUK for electing me back into congress for a fourth time. I am honoured to represent you and sincerely thank you for trusting me. Thank you as well for New Era for allowing me to stand in the first place. Of course it goes without saying I will be active and retain my 100% voting record from my previous terms in congress.



This week has seen a backward step for the eUK sadly. We began by continuing our mutual protection pack with our long time trusted allies Slovenia 28-3. I do find it interesting who the usual one or two congress members are who vote no to MPP's, especially when it is with allies such as Serbia and Chile.

Anyway, following that Zaphod Beeblebrox IV decided to propose an Impeachment of our President Big Ant as a ''lol''. It sadly lead to the predictable splitting of the country as fierce debate and points scoring was the order of the day. The Impeachment fell short but did see a 20-13 vote in favour for his removal from office, because game mechanics state that the proposal needed 66% of the congress votes to pass.

Matters have not been helped by Ireland and Belgium being very unhappy with Big Ant for launching another natural enemy proposal against Portugal so we could re-start the eUK's assault. You will remember our united and victorious campaign in conquering Portugal's only region before sadly we lost it hours later due to an EDEN backed resistance war. Big Ant did mention he would re-launch another attack but this was not given much notice so his proposal passed through congress 34-9. Due to tensions with Ireland then having their path to a planned training war with Canada blocked by our taking of Newfoundland i voted No to the proposal, by then it was clear we would be engaging in a training war with Ireland instead so I voted with already having that hindsight.



Danie Fox proposed an increase on VAT and Import taxes on raw materials from 2% to 6%, Congress passed his proposal by 20-11.

The president of Serbia proposed an MPP with the eUK and being a man with common sense I voted Yes. Serbia are one of the games most powerful nations and have laid down countless damage with regards to helping us.
Big Ant also proposed an MPP with our South American allies Chile, again I voted Yes and Congress passed this by 32-2



In the past 24 hours Congress has three MPP's proposals on the table - Lithuania proposed by their President (currently 32-2), Republic of Macedonia which again was Proposed by their President (currently 18-1) and our Presidents proposed MPP with Lithuania (currently 15-0). I have voted Yes to all three as both nations are long standing and loyal allies. I make no apologies for my voting patterns as I have always been a believer that continuing ties with allies is the most important thing for the eUK. As a nation we are small but thanks to our allies we have achieved so much this year...we must never forget their friendship.



Congress recently is involved in a heavy debate regarding how we communicate, this is split mainly with members who are happy with the forums and others who prefer the convenience of in game PM's. There are pro's and cons for both methods but as long as we can get all Congress active (after all they have had the support of the voters) then surely that is a win for us all? I shall be using both forms of communication even though I have been one of the forums biggest critics. I include this in the hope that other Congress members will use both so we can try to find a middle ground between the great divide in eUK politics.
