THE WORLD REALLY IS ENDING!
And I have the proof!
Only off by 3 days.... not too shabby.
Yes, you read that right. Serbia and Croatia have declared peace. This is one of the New World’s oldest rivalries. Only Hungary/Romania and Greece/Turkey could be considered to last longer. (I’d throw UK/Ireland in there... but lol. Just lol).
Some weeks ago, you may remember that Serbia was on the cusp of destruction. And the combined allies of EDEN and Terra were pouring their drinks, preparing to raise them in celebration. But Serbia pulled out the stunning victory. And proceeded to roll back the Croatian invaders.
And just a few months ago, Croatia was in fact wiped. Removed from the map.
The point here, is that these nations have been going at each other for years. Longer than most of us have been playing this game.
What does this mean for those of us not in the balkans?
Well.... it’s tough to say. Croatia and Serbia are still mortal enemies. And they will still be trying to hinder each other. But now those battles will be fought through proxies, not directly. Croatia has access to Central Europe now, thanks to one of the terms of the agreement. And they could also turn their attention to Italy, and liberate some of the Macedonia holdings there.
Or, this could all be part of the larger revolution at hand. As is usually the case in eRep, only time will tell.
But at least in the short term, this is indeed staggering news.
