This game just went even lower.
The past days, the development team has been actively promoting and giving preferential treatment to the player "Clopoyaur" and just went as far as to transfer in game currency to him, to promote his mixer channel from where he generates additional income from other players!
11 years after the conception of this game I was very puzzled by the message I got from Plato, ADVERTISING the stream of the player "Clopoyaur".
Let's dig just a bit into this.
In his article where he advertises 20k gold!!!! I posted a few questions:

NO! This is just not true. Clopoyaur is not doing anything that could not have been done by the developers, they are COLLUDING with someone to get more people in his stream that gives him income.
DO NOT CONSIDER US IDIOTS HE IS NOT PROVIDING ANYTHING EXTRA THAT THE GAME CANT PROVIDE THROUGH REGULAR CHANNELS

This is unethical and unfair and I do not care if I get banned, as far as I expose a bit the disorganized mess this game has become.

I think you should take it more easy: if you don't like the promotion, just don't partecipate. Think about this "event" just as a gift, nothing else.
I think a game should offer an EQUAL PLATFORM to its players and not actively favor ONE over ANOTHER. What do you think?

How is it unequal? Have you started a stream (with decent participation from players) and asked if plato would sponsor a giveaway? Unless you have, how do you know they favor one over the other?
I think that's absurd and I have no idea why you would believe that. Also, Clopoyaur does not use Twitch (he uses Mixer). Please explain which part of this you think is unethical and why.

He was not given any cc to dispence directly but he acted as intermediary for Plato and the erep team from an outside website
It's a bullshit move. Game developers should add content in-game, not force us to watch a Stream not even in my language or go to Discord.
AND if they want to do that, don't message all the players, post in your forum. But does this surprise you? eR developers are terrible.
Exactly. A game is supposed to provide an EQUAL PLATFORM. Even when it comes to pay2win this is a game of EQUAL PLATFORM and sending players to the stream of ONE PLAYER is UNETHICAL
Plato is not giving gold to him. Plato will send gold to winners, so there won't be a problem with 10gold limit...

Well, a lot of players here came to eRep because of him, and good part of players would stop playing long time ago without his streams, and fun 😃

A little observation:
Clopo will not get the prizes himself. He is just recording the winners in a google spreadsheet. Plato will send the prizes himself.

Clopoayur is a well-known sponsored player. He does get a shitload of money from the eRep team to promote the game. His streams are not too bad actually, but I also find it irritating and disturbing (and even illegal now in the EU) that he is NOT DISCLOSING the fact that there is sponsored content and his view is not objective as he is being paid by the Dev team. This is my problem - not that he is doing something outside. He deserves the credit, but all sponsorship in any form should be disclosed legally.
Another big shit is that eRep team is doing nothing for the game, and just relying on folks like Clopo to do the promotion and advertising for them. Which is pathetic, but we have all been here for a while and we know the state of the game and the (dis)abilities of the owners.

Clopo is nice guy he does a lot of things(especially GF tournaments was great) but yes this is little disturbing.

The one thing that I hate the most is that he doesn't even care about eRepublik anymore. When I asked him why he fights against his allies and he answere😛 "Who cares it's a training war", but it was actually a real war. And then he continued talking about sparks that gives him money.

You're missing the point. There's no cheating whatsoever. No one has ever tried to hide the fact that Clopoyaur is a eRepublik's partner - he even has such status on the official discord channel. Are you aware of any case where any other popular eRepublik-broadcaster's request for sponshorship (is there any besides Clopoyaur at all?) was refused? For now it looks like that you have spent last few years in a cave.

First of all, I'm not going to speak for him. I can only provide you with important terms definitions. "Being a simple player just like you" means having no special powers, getting no preferential treament, etc. Not being a part of the eRepublik team means not working (volunteering) for eRepublik Labs. Therefore, I see no lies in his message and I'll stick with my opinion until I'm proven wrong.
Second of all, the title of your article contains accusations of unethical behavior against eRepublik which is incorrect to say the least.

I think Plato abusing his powers to get the word out on a mass player message (something no one has the power to do) in order to lead players outside of erep is a clear case of collusion and unethical abuse of game mechanics in favor of a player.

well, Clopo is not a scammer, or receives a preferential treatment from Erep Labs. In a way, he is one of the reasons we all have found to stay in the game and be together as a big community, encouraging people with games, and incentives like gold, weapons, and other stuff
What makes me sad is 2 things:
*evidently you don't know Clopo better, his human quality.
*the admins don't do anything to make the game more interesting or available for progress for non visa people.
* Evidently not, and I am not supposed to care. I am not judging the merits of his character. I am calling out though an inconsistent behavior. He says he is a simple player in his comment and that there is no collusion. Evidence show the opposite.

no, it's the eye you judge what you call evidence. Admins use Clopo too to not finally sink the game. And Clopo really loves eRepublik. I don't know if there is an agreement behind or upfront. What i wouldnt do is to think he gets a big profit of that. He has his own business from Mixer, you can't participate or stay aside.
Anyways, we all have thought some way that all is about money. LIke life itself if you choose to have certain stuff.

I would vote this, but you are making comments of his appearance and that is not nice.
Clopo is ok, although sometimes he forgot to assign the prizes he promised (check back your articles Clopo! 😛)
His streams are funny, he doesn't generally stand on a side, so that all players are welcome. He earns with his streams, but he also gives back.
I anyway understand your point, especially since I can't take part to his streams because I have a metered connection, and especially since other initiatives in which you give something hoping to get something in exchange, but not sure if and what, are forbidden.
So, Clopo is an ok guy, don't blame him. Blame the fact that in the end there should be better rules to help others building up the community.
I agree on the better rules part and that he is not alone in the blame, the rep team takes the majority of blame
One thing that is not understandable is that I asked to the mods if I could ask my friends in game to support my social medias in exchange of erep currency from my own pocket and they didn't allow me.
In this case it's much more a direct benefit and the unfair treatment is pretty clear.
Your point only applies when there are some people that are doing same thing and only one (Clopo) is favored by the admins.
As far as I know, he's the only one who is investing his time in streams here.
