[TTH] Is This Loyalty?

In my previous article I asked [TTH] What is Loyalty?, below is the response I received over on the partisan eUSA Forums. I want to thank former Joint Chief of Staff member and current Commander of the Mando'ad, Synesi for his response to my question. Read the follow and judge for yourself whether you think his idea of loyalty is the same as your own, if it not I urge you to vote for one of the following parties in the Congressional Elections: We The People, American Military Party or The Black Sheep Party. Currently the two biggest parties in America, who collectively represent only 20% of America, controls Congress. Help break that control by voting for one of the three above parties.
'I do not have screenshots because there is no reason for me to ever have taken screenshots. The orders to fight on the opposite side of the battle were given in their milforum on their orders subforum, it was done many times. They did not hide what they were doing. Go ask Cyberwitch yourself, ask any JCS who was around during that time(Hint:I was a sitting JCS during that time), ask any PotUS who had to deal with them during that time. I'm not going to do your journalism for you when I know what I am talking about.' ~synesi
Believe that George Armstrong Custer once used that argument and was told, 'No Screenshot, No Happened.'
Sorry, the same rule applies here.
'Franklin, I will tell you of loyalty.
Your first mistake is that you are applying real life principles to a game. This is a game, with fake countries and fake organizations. As soon as you make a friend in this game, loyalty to country no longer matters. You are now loyal to your friend, then you meet more friends and you are loyal to them. Friendship and respect hold infinitely more loyalty than a fake country in a game ever will.' ~Synesi
To me your first mistake is not applying real life principles to this game. Yes, it is a game with fake everything. I agree that once you make an 'acquaintance' in game they will eventually become your 'friend', where we differ is I would only become friends with citizens who showed 'strength and honor' in their dealings with not just me; but the community as a whole. If I have a 'acquaintance' who can't demonstrate loyalty to the 'fake country' they chose to play for when signing up, why would I expect them to show loyalty to my 'faux persona'? In every game you chose a side on which to play and you don't switch sides in the middle, after that it's all pretend.
'There is a reason that every time a charismatic leader leads his group out of it's primary unit, large numbers will follow. When the JCS left, they still had a large amount of people who stayed LOYAL to the JCS, instead of the democratically elected game government. When Roper left with the Sheep, look how many went with him and how many are with him now. Why did this happen? It happened because the members were more loyal to a person than to the idea of helping a fake country. And that doesn't even go into saying how many people aren't living in the real USA anyways, so what loyalty at all would they have to a concept of eUSA.' ~synesi
It doesn't matter where in the real world they actually live, being American is more about the ideals of democracy and freedom; when they picked America to be born into it was more about their knowledge of those American freedoms than anything. The eUS Military and the Black Sheep showed loyalty to their 'friends' over the 'democratically' elected 'fake government' of a 'fake country' elected by a mere 20% of America, you are butt hurt because a group of friends did exactly what you have advocated here; they stayed loyal to each other over a 'fake country'. BTW, there's a cream for that 'butt hurt' ya know....
'Citizens in a game are loyal to each other before they are loyal to eCountry. Every time.
Now onto your question of why do we demonify the JCS and Black Sheep, while we don't do the same for pfeiffer? The reason is that the JCS and BS effectively gave the finger to this entire community when they left and continue to do so with their demeanor and words.
I personally don't really care that pfeiffer went to fight for a different country. If he went over there and had fun, then good for him, I am happy for him. I am happy to compete against people whom I am friends with. I would assume that others feel the same way.
The game is useful to give direction for a community to point itself, but that game is not enough to cause friends to shun other friends solely because they wanted to gain new experiences from a different meta country. The point of this game is to have a good time and meet new people, the point is NOT to make your country "win" in a game that has no win scenario.' ~synesi
You have stated that citizens are loyal to their friends over any fake country and that they should be, yet here you are butt hurt that another group of friends were loyal to each other over the a fake 'government' who represents a mere 20% of a fake 'country'. You are upset that the eUS Military and the Black Sheep gave and continue to give the 'finger' to the entire community, while condoning a citizen who gave and continues to give the 'finger to the entire community' by defecting to the enemy and becoming a Political Leader, Congress Member and FA Advisor; then coming back and braking IES Laws by refusing to follow Congressional Procedures. You believe it is acceptable to 'gain new experiences from a different meta country' and that the point is 'to have a good time and meet new people', yet the fake 'USA Government' ostracized and accused a citizen of disloyalty who had done just that; all while allowing your 'friends' to do exactly the same things.
The problem with Loyalty based on friendship is deciding to which friend you are most loyal?
There is only one country to which you must have loyalty, my place and your place of birth; America.

First of all, reading music should ALWAYS be http://www.radiostar.fm .
Second, Synesi is correct in everything he said here. It's the friendship that matters in this game, not the ABC-controlled government. I, for one, will never be loyal to some of the leaders and quite rightly refuse to follow what most of them dictate is "right for everyone" when I know it is only what is "right for them".
There is a huge difference between 'America' and the 'USA Government', you can be loyal to 'America' without being loyal to the 'USA Government'; ofc they will call you a traitor if you are not loyal to 'the aristocrats of the American Bourgeois Class'....

Jeez, that is great. What does it have to do with loyalty to a team in eRepublik? For a moment I thought you were reducing the importance of the United States of America to that of an eRepublik team. I'm Canadian so it is hard for me to understand. We have a hockey team with the same name as our country: Les Canadiens. Although I sure like to watch them play, I don't know many (besides Roch Carrier when he was 6 yrs. old) who equate their country with their favorite hockey team. I'm casting about for an American illustration: ...... as an American you MUST be loyal to the ......Yankees.... oh.. well that makes sense. Never mind.
What Franklin means is that you're only loyal if he agrees with your choices.
Wrong again. I simply want you to be loyal to America as a whole not just 'the aristocrats of the American Bourgeois Class' who happen to be in power.
So you're saying that JCS was loyal to America as a whole when they split from the government? Or the founders of VMA-214 were being loyal to America as a whole when they took infrastructure paid for with tax dollars and left Air Force in shambles?
The JCS were more forced out that left on their own when they split from 'the aristocrats of the American Bourgeois Class' who controlled the 'USA Government' at the time.
VMA-214 is a Top 5 PMU for 'America', so yes they were and are loyal to America. They also made reparations for the infrastructure they left with, which Congress accepted.
Fuck countries, fuck ideals, fuck everything. It's primal mental functioning to give loyalty to something that gives it back. You don't see a dog being loyal to his country or his dog ideals and they're the most loyal motherfuckers ever.
People are loyal to people and if you don't get that principle you've never been high up in politics or any organization either in erep or RL. I'd only take revenge for my country but I'd take the bullet for my mates.
Then again I'm not RL American so I'm not brainwashed into feeling it's exceptionally heroic to serve your country etc.
Now we know why countries like yours carry out 'genocidal wars'. The sad thing is you do it so as to have a 'country' to call your own. Except you won't even be loyal to that when you get it because you will be loyal to your 'gang of friends' instead....

The word loyal is being used around here like Plato is using 'epic' lately. Over use diminishes it's meaning. I'm a 'loyal' Mtn Dew drinker unless I decide I want a Dr. Pepper or an ice tea. 😛
I agree. Loyal and loyalty are greatly overused. I am not loyal to Blue Cream Soda, I like it alot; but like you I may want a Mr Pipp tomorrow. Ofc, I have been loyal to Chevrolet my whole life, though anything Bugatti would tempt me.
If you're going to play a game of mainly war with a dash of very controlled politics, a ghost of a Media and no economy, pick a side and be loyal; the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

For Dio's sake Franklin your autism is shining brightly. The JCS took off because while they wanted to call themselves the eUSA military they didn't want to accept what it meant to actually be the eUSA military namely fighting where the eUSA government tells you too and following orders. Now it would have been perfectly fine for them to take their ball and go home had they not ran off with thousands of gold worth of government property and claimed to fight for eUSA interests while actively fighting against the eUSA on the battlefield. That made them the very definition of hypocrites. Now lately they have stopped calling themselves the eUSA's military and have focused on being what they really are, an international independent military unit. More power to them, while they may have gotten a head start with government property they now operate on their own money and resources so I wish them the best. The black sheep are another example of a group that got it's start with stolen government property. Yes some of what they stole was paid back but that doesn't make the crime go away does it. If your gardener comes into your house Franklin and bends your wife over a chair and fills her up with some south of the border thunder but apologizes to you after does the apology make it not have happened? You are a walking contradiction Franklin. You scream bloody murder over a few Americans getting bored and playing for other countries for a while claiming that in your view they are now traitors. But you remain silent and actually support groups who stole from each and every citizen who has ever paid taxes in this e-country. And that is what makes you a fool not to be taken seriously. You have zero consistency and no moral high ground to stand on. You can not be taken seriously until you condemn the JCS and Sheep for what they did as you condemn Americans for playing in other countries. Since you are unwilling to do that, you remain nothing more than a fool acting foolish.
