Brief Statement on NaN
As most if not all of Australia knows we have left the NaN, this came after much discussion between the senate, cabinet members, and even a few NaN Representatives. Much is made of the carrying out of the vote and the manner of exit, all I have to say is I only regret not better informing NaN at the time of exit, and sincerely hope that bridge isn't burnt to badly to mend, and that we can maintain friendships with the alliance and its members.
But I will not apologize for breaking Fictional Laws, I do not accept that I have wronged the population by leaving it only to the senate to vote on, as only four senators voted to create the alliance in the first place.
Farewell Scottty
On a personal note, we bid a extremely fond farewell to Scottty, a Great Australian Hero. I didn't know him as long as many of you did, but from the first time I spoke to him on IRC until the last time, he was kind, friendly, supportive when I needed to talk about something, and fun to be around. Scottty was a great Australian for everything he gave our country, from fighting his heart out, to coordinating battles with Mercs. Scottty was an Awesome MU Commander, who despite at the time having WC listed as Invite only, let me join upon my own request, something I am forever grateful for.
Sincerely,
MoJo
~Prime Minister of Australia~

Comments
I didn't know we had a Prime Minister.
MollyJo is known for being a slave to Fictional Laws.
I hear she also prefers her vampires sparkley.
ophhh that last part is just too far. TOO FAR Majester!
Good update o/
I would assume she's been busy with other things Flattty.... its actually the MoI who's been letting the team down.
I haven't seen anything from DoE either.
aren't they both the same person Mr Jaybay.... Might be time for some boots to asses...
pretty sure there was a reshuffle. I agree with boots to asses.
No need for them, really. Game only allows a President, Prime Minister, Governor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Education.
4 actives is usually how any cabinet ends up anyway
Really? Did not know that.
has in every Gov I've been involved in and I've been in a few. Cabinet forums start out well then by the end its like a ghost town.

i'm glad to see Australia in ACT.

nice article.
Kicking Chile's backside out of Australia and joining ACT/TWO - It's been quite an eventful month
Voted O7
I will still be glad to assist NaN countries unless it was against Australia's interest, I have a soft spot for our NaN friends but we are now ACT/TWO and we must be united as one, there are no more places to go so we must succeed or perish, if TWO falls we fall alongside it, whatever happens we must stay loyal with our new friends and never forget the insults from Chile and Indo.
TWO never had a problem with NaN. All of NaN (bar Albania) were offered to join ACT last month but voted it down.... its clear now that the CoT SA CP had something to do with it.... http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/the-news-today-2279107/1/20 there is a link there to the SA situation. We will not abandon those who stuck by us.
Albania are not in NaN.
The TWO-NaN agreement never got to a vote. It failed because the next time NaN spoke to TWO HQ they denied all knowledge of negotiations with Draim and team. NaN operate on 67% majorities (75% for membership). No single CP can block a resolution.
It failed because I thought it was a stupid, unnecessarily waffly treaty, and I didn't invite anyone to ACT last month. Which isn't to say I'm not pleased you're in now!
well I was fed the wrong information by XG then about NaN knocking back ACT, he said it was rejected. He may have been fudging the line.
ok so from what Talon said, there 'were' talks or something.. unnecessarily waffly treaty.... sound like anyone we know 😉 XG at his finest. So this can be put down to mix up in communication.... not that it matters now. We're in ACT (yay)
Lani - I am really trying to understand.
Here you said "As Aus rep to NaN" - Implying you are a NaN rep. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-arp-returning-power-to-the-people--2277611/1/20
You have screen shot of XG in the above link. Where is the screen shot saying NaN rejected ACT and not the other way around.
Here -Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen NaN refused to go Pro Two, they had that option last month. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/farewell-nan-goodbye-democracy-2277552/1/20
What NaN rep were you listening to?
Somewhere Draim said he worked on an Alliance with TWO, but he was not invited in the conversation. Why not talk to him?
YAY!
I was this Governments rep to NaN.... not impressed but whole different story. As Talon says there were obviously talks, from that and the other comments I will assume that the refusal was more TWO looking at the long winded treaty and wondering what crack XG had been smoking. Those screenshots are not mine, I don't take screenshots or logs or anything like that. The Draim thing is a Senate issue, Scottty pulled the trigger 5 mins after we had a chat with NaN so I don't know why Draim was not in the senate discussion, I can understand why he would be omitted though.
Scottty's fault
XG's Fault
????? fault
Yay
in before "you are a crappy speller"
What point are you trying to make? Even Talon said "unnecessarily waffly treaty," which is the usual XG treaty nonsense. Scottty was the senator who got then numbers for the vote. If you don't want to know don't ask. I am only indulging you cause I figure you have a right to know what is going on though it seems you want to level the blame specifically at me.... apart from organizing the battle plan and handing it over to Pat (its just what I do) I have nothing to do with any of the rest. Sure I have opinions but Molly is CP, Cabinet are Cabinet and Senate are senate. Micromanaging any of of those groups is retarded and a sure way to fail... in case you hadn't noticed this Gov, while maybe communication is an issue, is not failing. Regions, allies, taxes, battles.... Education and Information are lacking granted but that does not make a bad Gov
A bad Gov sits on their ass for the month without ambition and simply goes through the motions.
I resent you taking credit for my battle plan. Granted, this is the first month we have had the resources it pull it off. For that you can take credit.
😉 I do renember my election promise that this month Aus would be well on its way to freedom.
Why are ya mad about us leaving NaN again?
Not mad. Very dissapointed at how it was done. Not even the CP appointed Aus staff in NaN knew it was happening.
Its done. NaN are over the stunned silence and everyone wishes Aus well on their new path. Back to business as usual and a little intospection.

hail scotttyy
Still disappointed that there was no real consultation prior to leaving NAN, and then we go and join TWO with no consultation either. You can claim that it is fine as we joined NAN in the first place the same way, but was that the right thing to do? Just because someone else did the same thing previously that was wrong, that shouldn't create a precedent for what you and the government do. It makes it hard for people outside of the senate to really follow what is going on and what the plans are for Australia. I suggest you get a new Minister of Information, as this has been a poor term for communication IMHO.
I'm disappointed too and will remain so.
I've had my say but our choice is now made, time to move on and fight hard for eAus.
Communication has been as active as other months really. The difference here is there has been so much going on that there seems great gasps of nothing. There has been weekly updates though.
Where was the communication about leaving NAN prior to leaving, and where was the communication about joining TWO/ACT prior to joining? These are probably the two biggest events that have occurred this month (bar the removal of Chile) and there was no forward communication about it. Remember the amount of discussion around joining CoT? There is a bit of a difference between then and now.
there was communication about joining TWO/ACT prior, i wrote an article on it
Molly was also elected using the platform of getting closer to TWO so its not a surprise unless you head has been in the sand.
Molly Jo said - If the NaN tries to dictate to us who we can and can not MPP, then leaving might be the only option, but otherwise I'd prefer not too.
What is done is done there is no point to argue now., good way OR bad way eAustralia left NAN and join TWO/ACT they did what they think best for them.
Good luck eAustralia
