[CP] Thank you and the big explanation

Before I get into things, there are few people I need to thank.

Firstly, Dr Hugh, for doing all my planning for me, sorting out the times, the NE and the declare war...without him whispering in my ear and telling me things, I’d have absolutely crapped my pants. So Hugh… Thank you. And for being around in general, actually. ❤

Mr Sherlock Holmes, for putting in so much hard work with MoFA the past few months, and especially with the work you put in regarding deals. Thank you.

Dmesk, the Greek CP, for his dedication and passion to Australia. Seriously, we would be screwed without you. You’re by far one of the nicest people I’ve met in this game, and even when things looked bleak, you didn’t give up the cause. Your organisation is top notch and your dedication to your allies is amazing. You went beyond the call of duty here. I will personally be in your debt for the rest of my e-days. Thank you.

PenjualBunga, the CP of Saudi Arabia, for so swiftly agreeing to swap your region with Greece so we could AS you and get a congress. You were quick and understanding, and another of the games nice guys. Thank you.

The Australians who fought in the airstrike. It was nice to see many of you hitting there. Specifically to the ADF members who I was talking to in the chatbox for the hour before the airstrike - that was such a fun and exciting build up. Thank you.

To the LETO/Asteria members who fought for us - it was incredible to see so many of our allies hitting for us and supporting our cause. Thank you.



So, let’s explain the past few days. Originally, and we’re talking about 3 months back now, Sherlock had made plans with another nation, the plan being that they would release two regions and we would AS them once released. The plan seemed flawless and it was genuinely exciting. We would be safe and completely surrounded by an ally.

So, with the other deal seemingly out the window, and me being worried about how much time we would have to do this, I contacted Greece. I’d spoken to Dmesk a few times prior to this and he seemed genuinely interested in Australia having a plan. Between us, we agreed that Greece would do for us what we had planned with the other nation - they were going to release Upper Egypt and we were going to airstrike after the resistance war had ended. Just as we were launching the plan (which started with us creating a distraction of sorts for Greek players by starting a resistance war in Povardarie), FYROM declared Australia a Natural Enemy. Time had been cut. We realised that the chances of having Greece release Upper Egypt, us declaring an airstrike (which has a 24 hour vote) and us winning Upper Greece were slim and that FYROM could probably wipe us before we finished our push. So I scrapped that plan.

I went looking on the map for a region to directly airstrike, one that didn’t need to be resistance war’d first. A Saudi region caught my eye. I asked Dmesk if Greece had a NAP in place with Saudi, and he said yes, meaning we couldn’t touch that region. That’s when Dmesk started talks with Penjual to swap the region we wanted to airstrike with another so we could both have congress. Both parties agreed and within the hour I had pressed the airstrike button. The fact that Greece went to so much trouble, including rearranging their NAP regions with Saudi, for little ol’ Australia still blows my mind. The fact that Penjual agreed to it without having time to consult his cabinet still blows my mind.

To those asking: Yes, I am in the process of trying to get another region.



To those who seem to think that this airstrike was wasted or pointless - take a look at the map in a few days time and you might just understand. FYROM have told me that Australia would go back “to how it was 2-3 days ago” (that was said a few days ago, when we just started gaining regions back). They also told me they are not open for negotiation. FYROM are already taking their regions back, Chile are doing the same and Indo are holding their region. This was all to reset determination, or to shuffle regions, nothing more. Ask yourselves, realistically, why would our occupiers, who need our regions for bonuses, just hand them back to us? The answer? They wouldn’t.

To current party presidents - don’t neglect the people on your congress list. I’d like to see people who have been active in Australia get congress spots, not those who sit on the sidelines pointing fingers or those who are inactive.



To those who are just trying to spite me or say I launched this airstrike because I’m on a power trip - get real. People on power trips try to retain as much power as possible and limit what others can do. This airstrike was to guarantee us a congress for as long as we want one. Someone who is trying to retain power doesn’t give other people the option to vote on a country’s business. They certainly don’t give people the chance of a congress, and remember, there’s always that impeach button sat there, although I’d like to think that despite your personal feelings towards me, that you can see I have Australia’s best interests at heart.
