Transatlantic Troubles

Transatlantic Troubles

Apparently midget porn is riddled with viruses. The poor condition of my expired-antivirus has recently led me into a few problems. That and the fact that I was until this morning too poor to top up my mobile broadband.

Fortunately I fixed all that (yay) but when I came back to my beloved eUK I was somewhat surprised to see that we were passing, by a rather large majority a Natural Enemy law against Ireland.

This wasn’t particularly aided by the fact that the forums were down and I had to re-install my IRC client (mIRC, rather glorious) and visit the bank and all the other things those of us in the real world have to do on a saturday morning.

Upon my return in the afternoon, I stopped for lunch (of course) and began to figure out exactly what I had missed over the past 2-3 days. It more or less boils down to the fact that congress decided to NE Ireland. But you could probably tell that already.

Firstly I think it is only appropriate to engage those who have been misled or who are misleading others into believing that this is a sole act of aggression on our behalf. Even if I do not approve of the timing of the proposal, not defending the right of congress to make it and even making excuses for it would be a betrayal to the people who elected me to represent them.

The fact of the matter is that a war against Ireland is purely reactionary. I have already gone into the details in previous articles over exactly what, where and how the UK has been the victim of unwarranted aggression, and despite raising these concerns -which is what they were- with both EDEN and Terra HQ’s we were met with almost complete complacency. I needn’t point out the apparent double standards here.

When we entered this alliance, we entered with the understanding that each member stood shoulder to shoulder. We fear that some stand taller than others and others stand on the shoulders of EDEN. With Terra and EDEN’s cooperation reaching new heights, we risk the compatibility between the goals and foreign policy of those member states and those of the eUK. Need we remind you, that we did not vote to join EDEN for a reason.

Now I could begin to jiggle my man bits around like a certain gentleman across the pond and spout effluence in an attempt to enhance my machismo, however, I tend to hold the belief that my readers and fellow countrymen are a bit above that. My question to yourselves and indeed our other alliance brothers (not bros) is this: Do we stand tall together or wait like good little suppositories until we are needed for insertion by EDEN?

In any alliance the eUK has done its utmost to put the needs of the many before itself. It is a testament to ourselves that we are still able to call former alliance members good friends. However, we are not prepared to have our foreign and military policy dictated to us by EDEN. As I have already stated we joined Terra, not EDEN. Just as we respect other Terra members’ associations outside of Terra, we expect them to respect our external policies too.

Thanks for reading.
