That’s the End of that Chapter

After a Month of being glued to my computer screen, it comes as a relief that tomorrow, as we creep into summer I am free to roam the great British countryside, venture into the valleys, explore the glens, comb the beaches, scour the mountains and play eRepublik some more.

Contrary to what some people belief, I shan’t be retiring after this month. I will however be scaling back my responsibilities. I shall now be dedicating myself to Phoenix tasks and work in the UK Army. Having plodded around on beta these past few days, I can personally say it is somewhat enjoyable, but having Keers send all his gold for me to dispense to army chaps will be sorely missed come V2, when I foresee me being beaten fairly quickly.

I’ll be around to help out Commons, if they so wish, and to help the new guys write their manifesto’s when congress comes. All in all, I’ll just continue being my handy self without really holding many official positions. That and there’s a few issues the UK has to clean up shortly, which should keep us occupied for the time being.

Reminisce

I’ve been watching over the eUK for a very long time now, I can remember when I first blocked the USA, activating their MPP’s and the hive of activity it brought to the forums. Similarly, when we liberated Belgium from a US-Romanian PTO it stirred up interest, and from that point in til the end of the Invasion of the eUK, we were on a general high.

Unfortunately for me, on a personal level these recent attacks seem to have gone under the radar. After swapping trolls with Ireland for months, when moves were made to lock arms in combat with them, not many people seemed to care. Even yesterday when the eworld exploded it was hardly mentioned on the eUK forums. This may be because it’s the summer time and people are frolicking in fields rather than fighting, but it seems to me that eUK’ers themselves are becoming less enthusiastic for eRepublik.

Fortunately, V2 should change this, a new type of gamer might be attracted to eRep and hopefully our community will begin to grow, and people will regain their enthusiasm for the eUK and the occurrences of the eWorld. Hopefully our community growing will cause our Army to grow, and expand to an even better fighting force than it is today.

Current Events

Keeping everyone up to speed with what goes on regarding our military engagements can be tricky once I’ve gotten the reigns, and out of habit I try to wait for it all to finish before explaining whats gone. However, a lot has gone on, several retreats and blocks in order to stop Poland taking high resource regions in the USA. Unfortunately, as is often the problem with the UK we were outblocked, and the pesky poles ran away. However we certainly put up a fight and that’s what eRepublik is all about.

Meanwhile, in events exclusive to the eUK you may have noticed this months presidential campaign getting slightly heated. One of my larger concerns about V2 is that the two clickers will get tired or disillusioned with the game and leave. This is just my paranoid mind working over time but I think this is a real possibility, and if our two clickers leave so too does the economy. I personally feel that a good economic policy ought to be paramount at this point in time, and I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you where to find the candidates manifesto's.

This months cabinet has been fantastic. I have been very pleased with the performance of cabinet in its entirety, but the Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs in particular spark a glimmer in my eye. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the Army for talking to me once everyone is asleep, and helping me bash marauding poles.

From me, that is all for now. I shall try and keep using this paper, so you can follow my wonderings and travels but for the immediate future, you won’t be getting the opportunity to vote for me.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for the fun 😉
