Like Moose to the Slaughter

Day 2,871, 16:49 Published in Canada Canada by Xichael

tl;dr CPF politicians cut a deal with our enemy Colin Lantrip to throw Rylde under the bus to try and get him to leave us alone. Spoiler: he didn't leave us alone, and now we're in a much worse situation.

Our leaders have been naive at best and treasonous at worst. I honestly believe ED was simply naive, however it is evident that key members of the CPF worked with our enemy Colin Lantrip to get rid of Rylde for partisan reasons. They sold the foreign policy of our country for political power. It was well played and Rylde was swiftly deposed, returning the CPF to power. However, the mistake they made was to think Colin was only after Rylde. We should have been fighting our hardest against Colin Lantrip, our enemy, from the start instead of engaging in petty power games. Our government was warned many times by RW that Ireland and Colin were not our friends and would continue to work against us. However, they were naive and acquiesced to Colin's demands to make peace with Ireland as they cowered from his CO, with only Rylde and the Whorehouse willing to stand up to him. Despite our government selling out our foreign policy in fear of Colin's money, he has not gone away. Instead, he has come back with a vengeance.

The government will insist that we are simply a "natural target for an airstrike" but you would be naive to think that is the main consideration. This airstrike against us was coordinated by Ireland to punish us. Irish government members have no subtlety as they proclaim they have big allies on the way to wipe us. The reason for this is because Ireland is not our friend, and they are angry at our democratic government (Molly Jo's term) as well as our dictatorial government (Rylde's coup). We said this all along, but the CPF was blinded by the opportunity to regain power. We called this as it was happening, but were dismissed. Surely it is better to invite a foreign enemy into our country than deal with Rylde, right? Well, we will put that to the test as we are wiped off the map until help arrives (if it ever does).

Beyond the Blame Game

Now that we have gotten the blame game out of the way (I'm sorry, it had to be said, because our predictions were prophetic in this case) we need to think about our options. I am not part of the executive this term, but I hope our CP Exalted Druid and his "Ministers" Aries Prime and DMV3 (Colin's good friend and the one who cut the deal with him to remove Rylde, I don't know why someone working with our enemy is still in this government) are having some serious discussions. I know they are underway in Congress, but as SC of Orion I can say we have not been approached (although, I would like to think that is because they know I am SC and that I am working on a plan to get us out of this mess and not because the executive is understaffed).

With Colin's money, and new found mission to help Ireland and Albania, we are facing a very serious situation. However, a wipe is not the end of the world. We will come back, eventually. Our allies may eventually come help us, but the fact remains we should have been on this earlier. We should have been fighting when he was bankrolling Ireland and we had a size advantage. Without that advantage, and facing two enemies bankrolled by Colin, we will not survive another week and may not win many resistance wars in the near future.

Despite our differences, we need to set aside partisan politics and fight for eCanada. I hope in the future certain politicians will not play such reckless games with our country at stake and that the people will hold those politicians accountable for their actions. But today, we must fight. Follow government orders and drain Colin for every penny that you can. We will have our vengeance on Ireland one day because I hope you can all see that they are no longer our friends. They are laughing all the way to the bank at our despair.

At the end of the day, we are all eCanadian, and the in the future I hope we can get along without involving foreigners in our internal matters, because it never ends well.

Yours in solidarity,
Xichael
