Congress is fun

Another month, another Congress
The past month the most loud topic in congress was about the work tax. Many months ago the Congress passed a law that said that until we reached 10m reserve we would have 10% work tax, this was how we justified the tax. Last month congress voted to shred this law to pieces instead of acting on it. I do not find this acceptable, we can't just make laws and then break them by refusing to execute them once the time is right. The law was basically a compromise when it was made, we needed a reserve but most didn't want to have a high work tax, so we made it time limited, yet now it wasn't a compromise as those that preached for a high work tax got exactly what they wanted. I will be fighting to lower this tax to cover the budget expenses which right now means 6%. The tax can be increased again when our reserves gets lower again, there is no point stacking money on top of money endlessly.
Another hot topic was the one that Kemal brought up, that one bonus is worth more than our entire work tax. Yes, it is. But that is based on that we need the tax to maintain our bonuses. We shouldn't need big COs to do it. We should think long term and settle things down to give our bonuses some relief. Some might yell that this is not "Country > Party > Self", but it is. I have 0 factories so to me it doesn't matter, I simply want the new players to have a bit of an easier time when they get their first factories and see if maybe one of our communes decide that it's actually okay to move back since that 1% higher tax is nothing since it's we that get it. Many communes live in Argentina, which means that their tax goes straight to the enemy. If they come home again Argentina loses and we profit.

Who has communes there? If that's the case, they aren't going to come back unless we reduce our tax to 1%, and probably not even then.
ST6 has communes there and doubt we're alone with that, and I am sure some would return.
So they're ok paying 7% Work Tax to an enemy country but not 10% to your own? Makes sense.
7 is less than 10, sometimes indicated like this: 7
They're okay with paying 7% work tax to an enemy country that has stable 10/10 instead of 10% to their own that has very unstable 9/10 where most of the time we lack 40% weapon bonuses and sometimes even 60%. Like Kemal said, 1 bonus is worth more than the work tax. So in eUS a commune would pay higher tax and produce less, would it really make sense to be located there then?
Also seems like they've managed to relocate to Chile instead. So that means they pay taxes to an ally instead. So that's better at least.

ST6 has never had any communes in Argentina. We had communes in Serbia for a longer period when they had 10/10 and 2% WT, but we're relocated to allied countries with full bonuses now. None of them even close to 10% work tax though...
Fun in Congress
Good luck Seppo.
INSURGIO~
I'd bet renting regions at a fair price would run a lot less than the millions being spent to try to hold eCanada and be a lot more stable, also. That would also free up a lot of damage from your own country and from allies to be used in more profitable areas.
Of course, that would be logical and make sense, which is why it won't happen 😃
