Congress is fun

Another month, another Congress

The past month the most loud topic in congress was about the work tax. Many months ago the Congress passed a law that said that until we reached 10m reserve we would have 10% work tax, this was how we justified the tax. Last month congress voted to shred this law to pieces instead of acting on it. I do not find this acceptable, we can't just make laws and then break them by refusing to execute them once the time is right. The law was basically a compromise when it was made, we needed a reserve but most didn't want to have a high work tax, so we made it time limited, yet now it wasn't a compromise as those that preached for a high work tax got exactly what they wanted. I will be fighting to lower this tax to cover the budget expenses which right now means 6%. The tax can be increased again when our reserves gets lower again, there is no point stacking money on top of money endlessly.

Another hot topic was the one that Kemal brought up, that one bonus is worth more than our entire work tax. Yes, it is. But that is based on that we need the tax to maintain our bonuses. We shouldn't need big COs to do it. We should think long term and settle things down to give our bonuses some relief. Some might yell that this is not "Country > Party > Self", but it is. I have 0 factories so to me it doesn't matter, I simply want the new players to have a bit of an easier time when they get their first factories and see if maybe one of our communes decide that it's actually okay to move back since that 1% higher tax is nothing since it's we that get it. Many communes live in Argentina, which means that their tax goes straight to the enemy. If they come home again Argentina loses and we profit.
