[Xichael4CP] Cabinet - Still Hiring!

Since publishing my candidacy article I have received a lot of feedback, public and private, on what I should be aiming to achieve and how I should go about running government. In particular, I saw DMV3 make a note that I would be considered a "moderate" as if that was synonymous with "boring." To be fair, I definitely am a moderate. However, I recognize the value of being a bit reckless at times. Not to say we need to be careless, but this game is about fun and to have fun in this game you need to take risks. I will be keeping this in mind when we get underway.

Before I dip into the cabinet I have lined up, I need to put it out there that I am looking for more active, new players who want to learn what it takes to run the government. I believe I have lined up the strongest possible senior cabinet possible with tons of experience and mentorship ability. You won't be expected to move the heaven and the earth, just learn and pitch in when you can. If this seems a bit intimidating, i'll have you know I made plenty of mistakes when I first started. When in the deputy position, I had screwed up the battle orders on more than one occasion (I somehow managed to issue a major priority to fight against our ally, but luckily someone noticed this and it was corrected before it caused a major incident) and I also bungled a few of my first alliance meetings (giving assurances to other partners that I probably didn't have the authority to do). However, these problems were addressed by experienced members of the cabinet and they never brought out the whip. As long as you're working in good faith, these things can be fixed, so don't be afraid of failing!

Now, before this becomes as long as my previous rant, I present to you the cabinet I have assembled so far:

Prime Minister
Thedillpickl

The Prime Minister is the CP's right-hand man, and I can think of no better person to anchor me for my first time in the big-chair than Dill. He's extremely experienced and he can always bring things down to earth when they get abstract.

Minister of Foreign Affairs
klop123

Canadian scientists are fairly certain than 75% of all accounts in eRepublik are controlled by klop, so it only makes sense to have the guy with this kind of connections in the MoFA position. In all seriousness though, klop has a "guy" everywhere and his connections are indispensable.

Minister of Defence
Exalted Druid

This was my MoD when I started getting involved in government back in September and he showed me the ropes. I can think of no one else who could help teach some new people than ED. He is also an excellent MoD and I value the fact that he is a straight-shooter.

Deputy Minister of Defence
Joseph Rich

One of the players I sought out who could make a great addition to future governments. Most notably, he is the brave soul who volunteered to be our House Speaker after months of having an ineffective congress. I expect he will do well!

Minister of Finance
Aries Prime

Perhaps the youngest member of our recent governments, Aries has a way with numbers. I believe he is ready to take on the senior cabinet position of MoF and will excel at it. I have a few things I want to accomplish this term and I will need my chief bean-counter to help budget them.

Deputy Minister of Finance
TimmKruz

The sole player who has reached out to me so far about getting involved with the government. He boasts an impressive track record for obtaining personal wealth by the mass purchasing and then selling of goods. I think he and Aries will get along just fine.

Comptroller
Bryan Alexander

Thanks to Plato's dictatorship update, we have had to hold most government funds in citizen accounts. Bryan has long been our impartial money manager and I would like him to continue serving in this role. It's not a very ceremonious or glorious position, but we should all appreciate the work Bryan does keeping our money safe.

The prodigal son returns. The Department of Motor Vehicles is back and he brings with him all the energy I remember. I believe that this fresh energy is what we need to get the community active again. DMV has been a divisive figure in the past, and I have found myself on the opposing side of him more often than not. However, I think we can both agree that eCan has fallen into an undesirable state and we can work together to bring back the good old eCanadian spirit. I can think of no one better to be running the governments media wing than DMV.

Mann551 is the leader of the Imperial Party and an underutilized politician. He has been around for a while and I think it's finally time he stepped into cabinet. I expect he will gain insight and experience that would be useful in running the Imperial Party and possibly continue his career as a cabinet minister in the future.

Goals

- Establish a permanent national citizen supply program to keep young players fed and fighting
- Mentor active players in how the government works so that we can see new faces in cabinet
- Alleviate boredom by planning and executing a war with the help of our allies
