Good morning eUK!

The exam period is finally over, and we have been relinquished from our scholastic shackles and to every extent and purpose the boys are back in town. After our academic jailbreak, we put some whiskey in the jar and sat down to record episode 9 of Bob Save the King!

In this episode of BStK we discuss the troubles brewing within BBH, we discuss ACTA, news from the Gaming world and portal 2, and we discuss ‘Kravenngate’, the story of a quick witted president and his critical noobs. Finally, we round of by interviewing none other than Frerk.

We also play the first of our new feature ‘What would Diakun do?’ - Listen in to find out what it’s about!

Universally Challenged

Many people (around 3) have been asking me exactly when Universally Challenged will be taking off, as I was terribly ambiguous in my previous article. Well, as stated above, exams are over and I have found myself with adequate time to begin questioning.

However I still want more teams!

So, if you have a team in mind, but haven’t signed up yet - do it here!

Teams of 3, must be available to face up to opponents on IRC and must be unwilling to use the bane of my quizzing existence, google. Game rules are below.

The rules: (In-case you forgot or have never seen university challenged)

Your three man team will be summoned onto IRC to fight your side in the ultimate battle of intellectual capacity. The game will take place as thus:

I ask questions (5 rounds of them), if you get a question right, you win ten points, and have the opportunity to win an extra fifteen by correctly answering your three bonus questions on a topic relating to the first question. Rinse and repeat for the remaining four rounds, and the winning team goes on to the next heat.

If that confuses you, just go youtube University Challenge.

The game shall be organised in a ‘winner stays on’ table, so teams can eye up the potential competition way before they begin answering questions.

The ideal number I would like to work with would be 8 teams, so far we have 5. That means the vast majority of you are mad, because the winning team gets 6 gold and 150 Q5 food. That’s 2 gold and 50 foods each. What’s not to like!

Even the runners up get 50Q5 food each, so go forth and apply, your King demands it.

Fixtures will be announced and quizzing will begin Next week!
