Day 2349

For me, the highest office in this land is not something to be taken lightly, nor is it something to tackle alone. I have chosen ten trusted associates to carry out my vision for the coming month. In time, you will hear my ideas and strategy for success and what I view as attainable and responsible goals for the coming term.

Today I would like to introduce the proverbial head of the beast. These two people, above all will be doing the heavy lifting. I have watched them work in their respective areas for a long time and have developed a respect for their work and trust them to use good judgement any time they are representing our country.

Disco Musolini has signed on as Veep this month. I understand Disco is usually hesitant to take on a role that, as often as not, is no more than a political appointment to garner votes. Disco is somebody who likes to get his hands dirty and do an honest day’s work. The beauty of the Veep’s Office is that anyone with personal goals for the country can accomplish those goals with the full resources of the Executive at his or her disposal.

This month, Veep is more than just a political appointment. Many of you know I take a rather pragmatic approach to just about everything. Disco will literally be acting on my behalf when I cannot be around. I do like to eat and sleep and school is wrapping up in the next few weeks. So, before Disco embarks on any personal quests to better the country, he will be tasked with helping to manage the ever-increasing foreign affairs load that is presenting itself. He will also be sitting on the newly reformed National Security Council and helping to merge our foreign policy with our military strategy.

Wild Owl is a former President in his own right. He had, by all accounts, a successful tenure and I look forward to his fiery demeanor and results-oriented approach. Right now he is working in the State Department, monitoring our alliance relationships and ever-developing scenarios around the world. The landscape is changing rapidly and it’s a full-time job that he does well.

For my administration, Wild Owl will be serving as Chief of Staff. Like Disco, Wild Owl will be tasked with attending to the needs of the Executive Office; sometimes facilitating meetings, often times providing a counter perspectives and in general representing the Office whenever I cannot be present. Added to that already formidable responsibility, he will also be monitoring progress on the goals set forth at the beginning of the term and adding a level of accountability.

Stay tuned for more about policy and those people that have generously offered to be a part of what I consider to be an all-star team of secretaries and advisors. Next time, I will be introducing the rest of Foreign Affairs and Defense portions of the cabinet and laying out the plan for a more effective NSC. Foreign Policy and Military Strategy must go hand-in-hand in a game where talking and fighting are the only two options available to us.

Three days after the kick-off of TU2RU in mid-2013. I blame President Israel Stevens. Not sure what got it worse, my sanity or his pocketbook.

My first grab bag event in 2012. It would not have been a success without George Armstrong Custer.

At a CivMU Fundraiser on day 1592. “Molly Emma needs your gun” LOL! Good one Dutch Marley!
