Hello eWorld,

I’ve decided to write an article on eCroatia to honour Omega’s return home. It’s fairly hard to write an objective article on my homeland, but I’ll try to keep it as objective as I possibly can. When you write about such complicated country it’s hard not to put some emotions is, because afterall eCroatian strongest foundation is in fact emotion.

We have never played this game with calculations in our heads and that often turned bad for the country itself. Croatia has always been a pretty simple country, filled with people who respected one thing more than any other - fighters. Our diplomacy has always actually been military, our economy has been military, our articles has mostly been about wars and our plans and talks would always be about how to win a battle.





History


As soon as Croatia has been added to this game it became one of the strongest country in it. Back then when new players meant a lot eCroatia had several huge baby booms, mostly based on “War on Serbia” agenda. Back then we’ve gathered the people who still play this game today, we didn’t had too many important Baby booms since then. That’s when the core of today’s Croatia has been built.

Many of those people met each others in real life and established real, true friendships. I’m proud to meet several people from this game as well. Ever since then Croatia has had strong internal understanding and focus on the goals when they had it. There’s been times when Croatia would just fall asleep for a while and become an average country, but then, like a phoenix, we’d always come back and take the show again. Most of us were kids when we started this and we’re in late 20’s or early 30’s now.

Croatian main alliance in history was EDEN, it’s when, if you ask any Croatian, Erep has been in its best times. EDEN members had strong bounds between each others and Croatia always knew who to fight for and when. Funny thing about eCroatia is, when we know who to fight for, when they’re sure that ally is ‘always’ gonna be there for us, we’ll fight with the same power we’d be hitting for Croatia itself. That’s what made us great allies in the past. But also, during some periods when alliances has been shifting often it made us fairly inactive too.



Croatia was also member of Sirius and Adriatica, but those were shorter periods of time when alliances has been shifting much more often than anyone would like. I think that once we lost confidence in alliances, in loyalty and dedication that’s when we started to fall apart. Pozz Sandri.

We’ve been losing our numbers and strength until one weird period when everything changed. When Croatia hit its lowest something has clicked and once again we’ve returned stronger than ever. Not many people has left playing this game, I wasn’t always playing for eCroatia because so many people has left, but few most addicted ones stayed. And they’ve changed everything. Few individuals has been trying to keep things somewhat active. It was extremely hard with such a few people, but they somehow managed it. In a weird set of events over 50 Croats returned to this game and weirdly enough they’ve been more motivated than ever.

It’s the same people who played before, just more experienced, well rested and ready for new challenges. That’s eCroatia now, one of the rare country in eWorld with growing number of citizens. And more importantly, growing number of motivated citizens.




Croatia today...


Today, Croatia is a very active country with over 300 active players of which majority actually have packs most of the time. Croatia has 1500 active citizens according to Erepublik, but just like in every other country there’s not so many of us here.

Croatia also has very simple Training Wars with UK, France and Russia. When it comes to British and French TW we’re winning direct battles and losing RW’s and when it comes to Russia we’re winning RW’s and losing direct battles. Those TW’s are very valuable source of True patriot medals and they enable us to gather some incomes to finances all that tanking. It’s also a good way to establish relations with countries on the other side, when you respect the rules of TW you’re gaining some respect from those who are willing to have TW with you.



One of the reasons why Croatia has returned is USA. A story already told so many times I won’t be repeating it again. Anyway, it made us come back much more motivated than ever. That resulted with the current positive situation for us in which we’re occuping parts of USA. It’s like some kind of instant karma videos. Croatia is currently resetting determination bonus in American regions while enjoying their great bonuses. We’ve moved our capital to America knowing it will bring us better bonuses.

Considering the current high level internal military organization and effective coordination we’re having no problems keeping the American regions occupied. We’re using Telegram on national level to make sure things are going as planned. That’s also place where Croats gather to discuss things, make plans and generally have fun. Telegram is where we organize our epic wars which lasts for only few minutes too. Not many countries can afford and unite to make that happen. It’s just one of the signs how effective this country has become military wise. We have few mad mens running all of that. However, this game has never been just military, because if it was, Croatia would probably be strongest country for a long time.




Economy Wars


I believe that the recent wars in Erepublik has finally become economy wars for a simple reason, after all the powerhouses has taken their colonies and bonuses only few of them left in the game. One of the main place where you could gather them was USA, a country which attacked us without any reason.

It was enough for Croats to finally start involving rational economy calculations into the planning. It was then when this war has got a true meaning. Not only it improved our production, but it also made us cooperate with some countries we haven’t been cooperating for a long time. By cooperation I’m not referring to fighting alongside each others, but on mutual understanding and tolerance. Croatia is now in possession of 100% weapon bonus and 100% food bonus which enables even those who like to play this game in a different ways to take part in the community.



However, the main reason why this suits Croatia is those who already had its holdings in eUSA. As you can see on the graph above we’re gaining decent amounts of money through taxes on a daily basis, which isn’t something we’re used to. This is where Croatia has a huge potential, we never actually played this game as organized as some others were when it comes to economy, internal money managing and generally internal meta gaming such as congress and other things, which often comes handy for those who aren’t here just for the fights or for those who can’t afford packs.

We should work together on making eCroatia the best place to have your holdings in, but according to those who has been following this more than I did we’re already currently the best place in USA to have your companies in. That’s our main economic strength in this moment, we kept taxes low, our VAT and Work Tax are both on minimum of 1% and we’re kinda stable, strong enough to keep those regions under our authority. This kind of things are giving us another dimension of this game we didn’t really had until now and I’m sure we’ll have few experts for that as well.




Diplomacy, alliances & powerhouses


Unlike in previous years alliances are kinda losing its meaning. There’s only one alliance worth mentioning in this game, and that’s Asteria. I’ve been already writing about it so I won’t repeat myself, just like in the case of War on USA. I’m fairly sure this is another reason of Croatian recent success. We’ve always been the worst when it comes to diplomacy, not because we’ve been bad allies, but because we never adopted the ‘new diplomacy’ of this game which has its foundations in damage, economy and individual relations.

When we had options to choose sides, we sticked to ours, when countries left our side (not because of us though) we’ve stayed and fought alongside those who stayed or those who joined from ‘the other side’. In most of the recent years it placed us on a losers side. If eWorld was still bipolar, we’d still be on a losing side. But it’s more complicated now. Diplomacy of this game is changing rapidly again and the proof of it is American failure. It does looks like countries has started to respect dedication and loyalty once again and that’s a good thing for the game. One great thing which happened to Croatia because we were part of losing side is huge amount of Legends who got their ranks fairly fast for eCroatia, regardless of collective boycott of the game for few months.



After all attempts to gather allies under one alliance failed eCroatia has kinda decided to stop caring about them so much and focus on bilateral relations with individual countries. It turned out much better than we all expected as we kinda stopped wars. Firstly I’m talking about Serbia, our eternal nemesis. I believe our relations has been growing for the last several years. When you spend so much time fighting each other you kinda start liking the other side. It doesn’t have to be some weird love, but it’s enough for our two countries to live in peace. And that’s good for both of us. Serbs have much bigger influence when they decide to get involved somewhere, while Croats can finally focus on themselves. If this situation would change only some 3rd party would profit from it.

Apart from Serbia there are Bulgaria and Macedonia as well, those two countries used to fight against us much stronger than others and the other way around, but recently, since we have common goals at this moment. We’re not fighting each others and it enables all three countries to have much more space and air.

Since USA and half of Pacifica tried to sit on two chairs Asteria has realized they’re not really gaining anything from them and that it would be better if Anti Asteria would become Anti Pacifica. For now, it turned out great for Asteria and previous Anti Asteria. It’s probably something similar to what happened with Croats and Serbs.




Our tommorow..


It’s very hard to estimate where Croatia is going to be in few months, or even few weeks, but what’s certain is that we’re now finally some factor in this game. We’re not going to be easily removed and our negotiating power is stronger than every. Compared to other countries we’re growing constantly, we’re improving not only on damage leaderboards, but also in coordination.

Every eCroat who wants to know priorities knows them, every citizen of Croatia can easily check them anytime, we have incredibly active leadership which makes things happen and it will be hard to stop this. There’s still tons of potential in eCroatia.

We can improve when it comes to internal communication, Governmental projects, transparency and presentations of what’s going on in the country. It might look like there’s no point in that, but there’s huge army of 2-clickers still clicking, watching, following what’s going on. There are still those who just need a little thing to happen to become active ones.

We’ve gained our strength back, now it’s time to get our intellect back. We need writers, we need analyses, we need economics and discussions. Hell, we even need congressmen to get involved, people to ask what’s going on, to take part in it.

Our future, as always, depends only on us, but the difference this time is that “us” is motivated, strong and capable. There’s only one conclusion after so many ups and downs, after so many dedication and determination. We are the future!
