On the peace side of the coin...

Notwithstanding the customary contention by a few eager beaver blockers and their loyal sniping squads, the Congress election went well. iNCi held up their end of the bargain, as did the USWP. In an interesting development, a number of iNCi partisans seem to be moving to Cyprus, but there's not a strong indication of a mass Owl exodus from the eUSA yet.

Now that the election has passed, it is expected that the freeze on immigration to the US will be lifted soon.

Also, prices seem to be stabilizing somewhat, so that's a bit of a relief too.


On the flip side, as Pres. Glove summarized in today's Presidential Briefing:

- Poland chose to fight our ally.
- Germany decided to make a stand.
- France quickly went to support Germany.
- Then the Spanish decided to help Poland.
- Then we declared war on Poland.
- Then Brozil declared war on Spain.
- Russia declared war on Poland.
- Portugal declared war on Spain.

Closer to our border, the Mexican resistance has been relentlessly advancing, reducing Poland's colonies there.

Battles for control of the Balkans have been burning hot as well.

Topsy-Turvy Times:

eIreland and eUSA were bros in the Brolliance. Friendship between our two countries is strong, both in RL and in the game. The US currently rents an iron region from Ireland and many eUS players have a natural fondness for the Emerald Isle.

But as we all know, times are changing.

New game rules require the establishment of trading routes in order to take advantage of production bonuses. Neither the the Southeast of Ireland, nor Norte for that matter, which is naturally in Portugal, but currently a US region, have direct transport routes to the eUSA Capital in Florida.

Furthermore Ireland remains a member of EDEN, whereas the USA and the UK are now allies in the TERRA Alliance. As for the relationship between Eire and Britain, well, it is what it is, isn't it?

The upshot? Plans appear to be in the works for a region swap. Pay close attention to the DoD orders over the next few days. If it says to fight for the resistance, then do it!
